Samsung‘s OneUI layer has added many new features, as well as keeping some classics that were present in the defunct Samsung Experience. One of them is the “Pop-up view gesture” that allows you to reduce the size of an application on the screen to see it in pop-up view mode and be able to interact with it in a very simple way.
Many of the functions present in our Samsung mobile are visible, but others are less accessible or the user never pays attention to their use. One of them can be the Emergent View Gesture, which can make any application miniaturize to operate with it. In this way, it can be left open and interact with other applications, knowing that we will have quick access right where we left it. It can sometimes be even faster than searching through recent apps. All Samsung apps and the vast majority of third-party apps support this feature.
Two methods to activate the function
From the main screen
The first one is to touch the icon of the application that we want to open in pop-up view. Then we select the option “Open in pop-up view” . At the top of the window we can see the toolbar. Tapping on the first icon we will adjust the level of transparency, while clicking on the window toolbar we will be able to move it to a different location on the screen. The app will remain in the same place until we close it or turn off / restart the mobile.

Also, by pressing the second icon we can minimize the window, maximize it or close the application . When it is minized, we will only have to touch on it to open it or hold it down for a few seconds to eliminate it. When the delete icon appears, we will drag it to that icon and the app will disappear from the Pop-up View Gesture mode. That is, it is done in a similar way to when we want to remove an application, but in this case it will not be uninstalled.
From the Settings menu
For the second activation method we will have to enter Settings and touch on Advanced Features. Then we tap on “Pop-up view gesture” and move the switch to the right. Now, when we are inside an application, we can slide a finger from any corner of the upper part of the screen, towards the bottom diagonally to activate the mode. To close the app or change the location we will use the same methods that we have seen previously.
