RyzenAdj is a program, compatible with Windows and Linux, that allows us to control through the command line many parameters of our Ryzen APUs. Being quite difficult to use, since it uses commands like:

./ryzenadj –stapm-limit = 35000 –fast-limit = 35000 –slow-limit = 35000 –tctl-temp = 95

What this command would do in particular would be to set the power limit of our APU to 35W and set its maximum temperature to 95 degrees Celsius.

So, to facilitate the use of RyzenAdj, the idea arose to create Ryzen Controller, which is a graphical interface that passes these parameters and commands to RyzenAdj in a very simple and easy way for everyone, simply by dragging a line or entering the values that We want in the graphical user interface and clicking on the button to apply the changes so that these changes are executed.

Currently the RyzenAdj project is on hiatus, as FlyGoat has not continued to implement new functionality, although its use for future 4000 series APUs is likely possible as it is currently compatible with all existing APUs.

What is Ryzen Controller?

Due to the many different (and proprietary) designs of laptop motherboards currently on the market, there is no official tool on AMD’s side to tune the performance of AMD Ryzen mobile processors as if it exists for desktops that It is the Ryzen Master and this tool has been created to fill this gap.

Because of this, many of these APUs are factory capped by manufacturers’ thermal and power limits. Ryzen Controller is a totally free open source utility that lets you squeeze every last drop of performance that AMD Ryzen APUs can offer with a very easy-to-use graphical interface.

Settings can be saved as custom presets that can be enabled whenever you need additional power for more demanding tasks like video games, or disabled when you want to keep your laptop running low and at lower temperatures.
