For various reasons we may find ourselves faced with the need to erase everything we have on our Xiaomi mobile, a simple process, but which has its complications depending on the situation in which we enter. To help you, we have prepared this complete guide where we show you step by step how to restore your Xiaomi phone to its original state or do a Hard Reset when you need it.

We must remind you before continuing that in this process all the data of the mobile will be deleted , although in both cases we will be able to rely on the different backups in Xiaomi that we can create. Still the photos or multimedia files are not saved in the backup and it will be convenient to take them out before it is too late.

Steps to erase everything from Xiaomi phones

This is the method that we must follow when our mobile does not have failures and we only want to delete everything from our mobile. The steps are simple and it is a method that we must carry out as long as we are sure that we have copied all the important files. We return to have more than 50% battery or be connected to the charging cable because the process may take longer and a failure could cause errors.

First of all we have to access the Settings and enter the option “On the phone”.
Then we access the option “Backup and reset”.
On the next screen we go down until we find the option where it says “Delete all data”

Finally we will see the button to reset all the data at the bottom and then we will have to enter our pattern or security pin to confirm that it is us. An added security method will appear if we have a Mi gutter configured, asking us for the password. After the process has been completed we will only have to reconfigure our mobile as if it were completely new.

Delete data on Xiaomi phones when it does not work

When our mobile does not work correctly, we have a failure or we can even use the screen, we will have to resort to Hard Reset, a process in which all the information on the mobile is deleted, including part of the software that may be causing a multitude of errors in our mobile after updates among other things.

The first thing we will do is turn off our Xiaomi mobile. In case we can’t use the screen, we hold the power button for 10 seconds and it will force shutdown.
Then we hold down the power button and increase volume until it vibrates and the Xiaomi logo appears.
Once we are in the Recovery menu we move with the volume buttons and access with the power button.
We do not place in the “Wipe Data” option and access with the power button.
On the next screen we tap on the “Wipe All Data” option.
Finally we give to confirm and we will have deleted the terminal data.
Then we return to the initial menu with the option “Back to main menu”
And on this screen we choose “Reboot” and finally “Reboot to System”.
