The Redmi Note 9 Pro from Xiaomi is official and comes with a renewed design, improved specifications and a new companion that becomes the top of the manufacturer’s range and reminds us of the Xiaomi MI Max series. How are the Note 9 Pro and the Note 9 Pro Max different from Redmi?
While many of us expected a standard Redmi Note 9 and a Pro model, the brand changes its third and takes out a Max model that shares many of its characteristics with the standard “Pro” version. The main changes between the two mobiles are in their RAM memory configuration, their battery and their camera configuration. Now we can see a comparison between the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and the realme 6 Pro.
Features of mobiles
The new Redmi Note 9 Pro series comes with a renewed design where the leading role is carried by a screen with perforation in the center of the upper edge to house a front camera. On an aesthetic level, smartphones have a different camera module that is housed in the center of the back.

The Pro Max, the better of the two mobiles, has an IPS screen with FHD + resolution that reaches a size of 6.67 inches with an aspect ratio of 20: 9 thanks to its perforation on the screen. It also has a density of 386 dpi. Under this large panel we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, the same one that we also find in the Realme 6 Pro, Xiaomi’s main mobile competitor.
The quad camera setup on the back is fixed with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and 120-degree viewing angle, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel proximity sensor. For selfies we have a 32 megapixel camera on the front.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, as you have already seen, has a large screen size, so the battery can not be left behind. The mobile includes a 5,020 mAh battery with a 33 W fast charge support. Other data to note is that the phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
At the memory configuration level we can buy the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and a storage of 64 or 128 GB + MicroSD of 512 GB.
Differences between the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max
There are four great differences that we find between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Max model. The first of the models has slight changes in RAM memory, its cameras and its battery.
- The mobile is sold with 4 or 6 GB of RAM.
- The rear camera swaps the main 64 MP sensor for a 48 MP sensor.
- The front camera sees its resolution cut in half and mounts a 16 MP sensor.
- The Redmi Note 9 Pro’s battery also has a 5,020 mAh capacity, but its charging speed drops to 18W.
Price and date of purchase
Both phones come in three color options: ‘Interstellar Black’, ‘Aurora Blue’ and ‘Classic White’.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max can be purchased with 3 different configurations:

In the case of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, we have two clearly differentiated versions:
- Redmi Note 9 Pro con 4 + 64 GB : 12,999 Rs (cerca de 159 euros al cambio).
- Redmi Note 9 Pro con 6 + 128 GB : 15,999 Rs (cerca de 199 euros al cambio).
The two mobiles are put up for sale in eastern countries on March 17 but we still do not have a date for their landing in our country, where they will probably be marketed next month.
