Redmi Note 8 Pro: MIUI 12 Errors and Glitches Still No Solution

The history of MIUI 12 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro has not been all the “romantic” that could be expected. There have been many users who have had to wait too long for the update to arrive and, when it hit the market, it was not as “revised” as one could wish from a software of these characteristics. Today, with the global version already released, there are several problems that still have no answer.

We are not talking about the famous ROM that we can find in forums or different websites to install it manually, which was not fully functional in all cases and could cause serious problems on the Xiaomi phone. We are talking about the official version released by Xiaomi a few weeks ago for global models and that has already appeared on the mobile phones of some Spanish users.

Unfortunately, as with other smartphones of the firm, this new version of the operating system based on Android 10 carries a series of failures that are already known by the firm but for which, to this day, there is still no solution.

The problems after updating the Redmi Note 8 Pro

All the bugs that we show you below have been experienced by the majority of users but that does not mean that they are reproduced on all mobiles. If you have a Redmi Note 8 Pro with MIUI 12 in its Global version, you may have encountered all these failures, only some or, if you are very lucky, none.

• Device watermark is incorrect (V12.0.4.0 [global])
• Gesture bar transparency issues (V12.0.4.0 [global])
• Connected Device List and Block Option Fail in Hotspot Settings (V12.0.4.0 [global])
• Notification tone sometimes hangs and won’t stop ringing (V12.0.4.0 [global])
• Google Pay randomly stops working (V12.0.2.0 [global])
• WhatsApp notification buttons are not displayed correctly (V12.0.2.0 [global])
• Automatically caching all files created by the cleaner

Xiaomi is aware of all these failures and has them pending review. As in the past MIUI 12 patches and previous versions of the operating system have already been released to fix these errors, currently Xiaomi is working on new versions of its customization layer that fixes these problems and, most importantly, that does not generate others worse.

At the moment there is no date for the next MIUI 12 update for the smartphone.
