The generations of Redmi terminals are constantly succeeding. This always raises many doubts for users who want to change their mobile: do I buy the new one or take advantage of the offer of the previous model? That is precisely what we will try to solve, when making a technical comparison between the Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro from last year.
The mid-range is becoming less average and higher in many technical aspects. It seems that the processor is still the retaining wall so that we can label them in one range or another, since sometimes neither the price nor other types of benefits are defining. In the case at hand, we have two Redmi generations that are always ahead of their time and seek to attract attention by integrating many of those features that we see in much more expensive devices.
Screen, weight and thickness
There are some things that have barely changed, but others have and are very significant in the section of the screen. Both the Redmi Note 10 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro have a size of 6.67 inches, with FullHD + resolution, a panoramic aspect ratio of 20: 9 and are protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It also coincides that the two panels have the same 395 dpi and they have a hole in the upper central part of the screen to house the selfie sensor.
However, the progress is palpable when we see that the Redmi Note 10 Pro has an AMOLED panel in front of the IPS LCD panel of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. In addition, the new model has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and is compatible with HDR10, not so in his brother. We also see that the new Redmi Note 10 Pro has improved the relationship between the screen and the frames, achieving that 85.7% of the front is all screen, compared to 84.5% of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. It is not a 5G terminal, since it integrates the Snapdragon 720G, compared to the Snapdragon 732G of the most recent model. The Redmi Note 9 Pro arrived in Spain in versions of 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal memory . We know that the Redmi Note 10 Pro will do the same, so there are not many differences in this regard, also taking into account that both allow to expand this memory through microSD cards.
In terms of performance there are not excessive differences, since the Redmi Note 10 Pro exceeds 290,000 points, compared to the 274,000 points of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. It should hardly be noticed in games and other tasks in which the maximum of each is required. device.
108 megapixels arrive
In the cameras section we find a very notable difference, but that does not have to mean better results. The Redmi Note 10 Pro pulls out muscle with a new 108 megapixel sensor, versus the 64 megapixel main sensor of the previous generation. As we have commented above, only the Redmi Note 10 Pro boasts 5G connectivity, although both have NFC, Bluetooth 5 and USB-C, in addition to having the fingerprint sensor integrated on one side. The battery of the two is 5,020 mAH, but the Redmi Note 10 Pro has a 33W fast charge, compared to the 30W fast charge of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The two terminals move with MIUI 12, but the Redmi Note 9 Pro is still waiting for Android 11, a version with which the new model was born.
Prices and conclusions
The improvements between the two generations are not overly outrageous, but the few that we found carry a lot of weight, such as a considerably better screen, a 108 megapixel sensor and a more advanced processor with 5G. These three arguments are enough for the Redmi Note 10 Pro to be a more succulent option. However, the price plays in favor of the previous generation, that is, the Redmi Note 9 Pro can be found for about 199 euros in its most powerful version, compared to the 299 euros that the same memory version will cost in the Redmi.
