The upcoming release of the Xiaomi Redmi K60 Extreme Edition is generating significant anticipation, set to debut next week in China alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, Smart Band 8 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 6 Max. Following its launch in China, the device is expected to make its way to Spain under the names Xiaomi 13T or Xiaomi 13T Pro, offering an impressive surplus of memory.

Are you seeking more RAM on your smartphone than on your PC? The trend of smartphones with 16 GB of RAM is rapidly becoming the norm in the market. However, the upcoming Xiaomi phone is taking things to the next level, following in the footsteps of brands like Nubia, by equipping its device with an astounding 24 GB of RAM and a whopping 1 TB of storage.

What was once just a rumor has now been confirmed through a series of promotional images shared on Weibo by Xiaomi’s subsidiary, Redmi. These images provide a first look at the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, showcasing its design and many of its specifications.

The device is set to feature the Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, along with the confirmed 24 GB of RAM and a maximum storage capacity of 1 TB. This immense memory configuration is poised to accommodate numerous background applications and provide ample space for installing a plethora of content on the device.

Additional confirmed features include a sizable 6.7-inch OLED panel boasting a 1.5K resolution and a remarkable refresh rate of 144 Hz, elevating the Redmi K60 to flagship performance levels. To provide context, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro is projected to offer a 120 Hz panel with a lower resolution and significantly less RAM, merely 8 GB in comparison.

What else will mobile offer?

When selecting a new phone, it’s important to consider more than just raw power, which is why Xiaomi continues to emphasize other vital components like the camera and battery. However, for this model, it appears that there won’t be a collaboration with Leica, as there is no branding from the renowned camera manufacturer on the device. From the provided images, it seems that the primary sensor will boast an impressive 50-megapixel resolution. Yet, the focal length range of 15-24mm equivalent hints that there might not be a telephoto lens included in the camera setup.

Notably, Xiaomi has taken a significant step by introducing dust and water resistance to the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, marking the first instance of this feature within the Redmi family. Previously, IP68 resistance had been reserved for Xiaomi’s more expensive flagship models. Consequently, this new offering from the Chinese brand is capable of being submerged in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

While its unveiling is set for August 14th, the model’s availability in Spain is anticipated to occur during the latter part of the year, aligning with Xiaomi’s usual timing for introducing these models to the Spanish market. It’s likely that this will manifest as the upcoming Xiaomi 13T Pro, slated to be released in our country by year’s end, although official confirmation is still pending.
