When we refer to the current Internet browsers that most of us use on our PC or mobile , we mean extremely important software. This is due, among other things, to the widespread use we make of it in current times. Among these, the most used and known are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
As surely most of you already know, here we refer to a series of applications that serve as a platform to access the vastness of the Internet. Due to this reason, they must be robust and secure proposals, but not only that, but now we already ask for functionality and a good interface. In fact, the developers of these programs are already fully aware of the importance of their projects today.
Therefore, to meet the needs of their millions of customers , they do not stop releasing updates so that they can be up to date in every way. At this point, it must be borne in mind that the most widely used alternative of this type, and by far, is Google Chrome . With around 70% market penetration, we come across highly popular software. At the same time, until recently Firefox was its most direct competitor, although it was just overtaken by Edge.
Specifically, we refer to the new Chromium-based Edge that Microsoft launched a few months ago to replace the original Edge that was launched with Windows 10. That is why, as it is easy to guess, that more and more users are opting for this Redmond proposal.
Reasons to use Edge instead of Chrome or Firefox
The truth is that at this point there are several reasons why we can make the determination to change and test this new software. One of them is, for example, the enormous compatibility it has with many of the functions and extensions of Google Chrome itself. Not in vain both are developed based on the Chromium project of the search giant. However Firefox does not belong to that group, so the extensions available here are less, something that is very noticeable.
At the same time, a company with Microsoft’s experience is bringing useful functions and features to the aforementioned project. And of course, of course it adds them before anyone else to its own software, Edge, so it is innovating more and more. Also at the moment for many it is the fastest browser , at least among the most used, which is always appreciated.
But that’s not all to give this new project that Microsoft has embarked on a chance. Many complain about the general lack of privacy of Google products, so at least in this sense we will get rid of it, also using a Chromium browser. Of course, this does not mean that Microsoft is free from the same monitoring, the telemetry used in Windows serves as an example, but that is another issue. Thus, for these and other reasons, more and more users decide to give Edge Chromium a try, leaving aside other more veteran proposals.
