MediaTek has always been in the shadow of Qualcomm when it comes to performance. However, the Taiwanese semi-conductor manufacturer is largely responsible for the fact that we can have devices with a great quality / price ratio in our hands. Its processors cost considerably less than those of the American company, and many manufacturers bet on them. One of these firms is Realme , which will bet heavily on the new MediaTek Dimensity 1200 in its new flagship.
The brain of our smartphones almost always determines if we are dealing with a mid-range, high-end or input device. In this sense, MediaTek has always known how to play well in the mid and low ranges , but also offers performance at the highest level. The new brain of many mobiles that we will see in 2021 will integrate the new Dimensity 1200
Realme and MediaTek hand in hand
Realme has not been slow to jump on the bandwagon, stating that it will be one of the first companies to launch a smartphone with this processor. This chip surpasses the previous generation, with a 6nm manufacturing that uses the powerful Cortex-A78 core that runs at 3 Ghz. According to ARM data this means improved CPU performance up to 22% faster and 25% more energy efficient compared to the previous generation. This chip supports sensors of up to 200 megapixels, a screen refresh rate of up to 168 Hz and integrates the HyperEngine 3.0 to enhance the gaming experience.
Realme’s first candidate?
Many Chinese company executives love to play games on social media, spilling crumbs about what’s to come. It was Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme , who yesterday showed an image of a terminal, which boasts of thinness when compared to several stacked credit cards. The manager accompanied the image of the word “Xciting” referring to the Realme X9 that have yet to be officially known.
The top-ranked candidate is the Reame X9 Pro, Realme’s upcoming low-cost flagship, which is expected to be unveiled soon. According to some details that the French media Frandroid has had access to, this terminal could come with a 108 megapixel main camera, and two modules of 13 megapixels each. The specifications could be completed with a 6.4-inch screen with a 120 Hz rate and a 4,500 mAh battery.
In addition, after the announcement of the Dimensity 1200, Realme has not been slow to inform the press that they will be the first to integrate the processor, referring to the Realme X7 and remembering that it is not the first time that the firm is the first to release a MediaTek processor.
Not forgetting Qualcomm
However, Realme will not forget the powerful Snapdragon 888 , which could also make its debut in the rumored Realme Race Pro, which could come alongside a standard variant that also sports the new Snapdragon 870. The “Pro” variant, could come with a huge 6.8-inch screen, memory options of up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and a large 5,000 battery with a fast charge of 125W.
While all doubts are cleared, what we have clear is that it seems that the year will leave us with great options and the competition between the different manufacturers will be fiercer than ever . It is expected that Realme will soon put a presentation date on these and other bets to face 2021.
