Realme 7i: Features and Opinion of the New Cheap Phone

Realme 7i: Features and Opinion

Realme has a new offspring in the family and it is one of those teams that must be taken into account due to its low price. As you know, the brand has gradually expanded its range of devices moving in very diverse price ranges, but in the case of the Realme 7i it maintains the essence of “more for less” with a wealthy phone and above all very cheap. Here’s what you need to know about it after we’ve been testing it.

Realme 7i, targeting the input range

The Realme 7 family is giving so much joy to the Asian company that it has not hesitated to continue expanding its range with a new model. This is how this Realme 7i was born, a kind of substitute for the Realme 7 (which we like so much) that tightens some of its qualities to better adjust the price.

That causes that we find good surprises -spoiler: the battery- eye, but also perhaps with certain limitations, typical of a terminal input range, you should consider before betting or not for this new model.

What you should know about the smartphone

These are the impressions that the Realme 7i has left us after spending a good time with it. If you were thinking about your purchase, keep the following details in mind.

Discreet display, performance to match

Somewhere you have to cut back when you want to offer a decent phone at a crazy price and in this case the screen is one of the least attractive elements of the team. After all, it is still a discrete 6.5-inch LCD panel (wide it is, of course) with an HD + resolution that reaches 1,600 x 720 pixels of resolution. Here it certainly finds its greatest drag, although at least the tactile response is good and the viewing angles are decent.

As for the general performance, it is very in the line of the house. Realme is doing a good job in this regard and the Realme 7i confirms it once again. The equipment responds quickly and optimally, everything moves smoothly and even when playing games (with that large screen, you are probably thinking about it), the smartphone responds with dignity and without overheating. A very affluent team to which few objections in this regard -always taking into account its category, of course-, thanks to the push of its MediaTek Helio G85 processor and its 4 GB of RAM.

Correct photography, no more

I am often asked for recommendations for cheap phones with “a very good camera” and I always answer the same thing: “that unicorn does not exist”. Let’s see, don’t get me wrong: in the entry range we can find quite acceptable returns in photography, but it is still an aspect that is usually more discreet in low-cost terminals. And this realme 7i was not going to be an exception.

Its 48 MP main camera will give you satisfactory and correct results during the day (it has HDR mode) and it even comes with a night mode that can save the odd scenario (without miracles). The focus is also quite fast. As for the portrait mode, I liked it more than expected, making a good cut, sometimes a bit aggressive but in general also acceptable -idem with its front camera for selfies.

The wide angle is the one to limp the most, with the most loss of detail and definition even in good light situations where it should perform better. Nor does its macro performance win me over; Given the choice, I would have preferred a telephoto lens instead.

The best: battery of 10

With a battery module of no less than 6,000 mAh , we could hardly expect a heart attack autonomy. And effectively it has been like that. The Realme 7i gives you that pleasant feeling that you will never run out of battery, thanks to a good management of its system and, of course, the capacities in which we are moving.

A lot, a lot, effort and desire you have to put in so that the phone does not reach you on the second day quite comfortably. In fact, with a normal / moderate use of the smartphone you can sneak in on the third day without having missed the plug. If you are looking for autonomy above all , here is an option that will not disappoint you at all. Its fast charge, by the way, is 18W.

Simple design but with a twist

Something that will catch your attention when holding the Realme 7i for the first time is that it is a relatively light phone (for its dimensions) and with a very discreet finish . Here we forget metallics or glass, to give way to the usual plastic, which can be less attractive at first. How to make up for it? With a truly original framework in the form of vertices that are noticeable even to the touch and that save the whole.

This makes it look a bit special compared to other completely “flat” backs, helping to have a little differentiating touch that helps you forget about its finish of its entry-level materials.

It does not have NFC

This point is brief but tremendously important for many: this smartphone comes without NFC. There are more and more terminals that include it and it may be something you take for granted in this smartphone, however, on this occasion, it has really decided to do without this module in its inexpensive equipment. Keep that in mind.

The fingerprint sensor is on the back

This smartphone comes with a physical fingerprint sensor (no on-screen integration), located on the back. It is still a very traditional location, which works effectively and quickly -the same performance offers its facial recognition, which would be worth mentioning here.

What I might have liked is for it to be a little lower than it occupies in its rear area: the phone is considerably high and the sensor is placed very high for which hands, as well as too close to the camera module, which it may cause accidental touch of the glass. Just a little more scrolling down would have been perfect.

The price is fantastic

Well, I’ve saved the most powerful reason, alongside the battery, for considering this phone for last: its price. The Realme 7i has an official cost of 159 euros , although during its first 48 hours of being on sale it will be even cheaper, for only 149 euros.

And when does it go on sale? Well, on December 21 (therefore, that day and 22 will be with the aforementioned sale). You can buy it in Victory Blue (protagonist of this review) or Winner Silver.
