- 92% of respondents say they are confident that they understand their cloud security responsibility
- 97% think their cloud service provider offers sufficient data protection. That is not always the case, we must also remember that we are in a model of shared responsibility.
- 55% of those interviewed use third-party tools to protect their cloud environments, which can lead to security breaches.
On the other hand, the research also revealed that the number one risk facing cloud environments was misconfigurations.

The survey also found that companies seem to trust the security measures it has established in the cloud. In that sense, 51% say that rapid migration to the cloud has increased their focus on security best practices. We also have that 87% estimate that they have full or majority control of the security of their remote work environment. Furthermore, in a future hybrid workplace 83% think they will have full or majority control of their safety.
The security challenges of rapid migration to the cloud
Rapid migration to the cloud has had significant challenges, and that shows in the responses to the Trend Micro survey. Thus, 45% of those surveyed stated that security is a very important issue for the adoption of cloud work. Regarding the main operational headaches of protection in the cloud we have to:
- 35% was the establishment of coherent policies.
- 33% were concerned about patching.
- Another 33% were concerned about the protection of traffic flows.

Regarding the security solutions for cloud environments classified as the most fundamental for companies were:
- Network protection for 28%.
- Cloud security posture management for 26%.
