Our mobile is full of functions that sometimes go unnoticed. It is common for users to want to put a screensaver, a function that was inherited by current smartphones from PCs from the 90’s. A screensaver has always had the objective of making the screen “rest” to increase its useful life or even save energy . Over time, it has also become an aesthetic function, used, for example, to see how our photos loop in the purest style of the disappeared digital frames.
The usual thing when the mobile is at rest, is that the screen remains off. Make no mistake, this is undoubtedly the best method to save battery life. We also have alternative and increasingly popular methods such as Always on Display, which allows information to be displayed on the screen while maintaining low power consumption. It must be clear that putting the photos as wallpaper will use up battery in the same way as if we were viewing the photos on the mobile, therefore, it is a purely aesthetic function.
How to put photos as screensavers
In order to make our photos appear as screensavers , we will have to enter the Screensaver setting, which is found within the screen settings in each terminal. To go to shot done, we can always write “screensaver” on our mobile to quickly locate the function. Once inside, we will see that we have the option to select “Photos” as an option. Next we will have to adjust some options to leave it to our liking.
Choose the options
Once inside, we will have at our disposal several general options of the screensaver that we can activate or not according to our preferences:
- Use Wi-Fi for data only
- Photos fill the screen
- Animated zoom effect
In addition, we can mark the albums, whose photos we want or not, that appear as screensavers. In this sense, we will see the folders of applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram.
When to activate the screensaver
Likewise, when we have everything configured, we can mark the option “When to start showing it”, which determines when the screensaver will be activated . The usual thing is that it does it when the terminal is charging, so as not to suffer a useless loss of battery, but it can also be done when it is in a charging base or both options at the same time. The last option is “Never”, which disables the screensaver and in this case, we are not interested in having it activated.
