When owners of Chinese brand mobiles face problems with location they quickly think of Google services. Nothing is further from reality. HMS ( Huawei Mobile Services) work just as well as GMS (Google Mobile Services) and has its own location system. The problem is due to the permissions provided to the weather service or to misalignments in the app itself.
If the Weather application does not update the weather information automatically or by sliding your finger down on the main screen of the application, or if the weather information displayed is out of date, we leave you the following solutions.
Does the app have the necessary permissions?
The main problem of the Weather applications has its origin in the access permissions to the location. if for whatever reason we have not granted them or only allow them on different occasions, it is likely that it will not show real data on more than one occasion. Therefore, the first thing you should do is open the Settings panel of your phone, access the Location settings, select the corresponding button and check that the Weather app has the corresponding permission granted.
Restart the Huawei weather app
If, after doing them, you still find precision problems in the Weather app , you have to go through the restart of the app. To do this, access the Settings menu, select the Applications menu and locate the weather app. Once inside, click on the Storage button and check the options to erase data and clear cache.
This will restart the application from scratch and you can reconfigure it from scratch in the next step.
Delete and establish a new city
When you start the Weather app from scratch on your Huawei mobile , you will be asked for Internet access and Location. Grant it and on the next screen it allows access to the location all the time so it can be updated in real time. The city will then be located automatically, but if you prefer, you can set your region manually.
To do this, click on the 3 buttons in the upper right corner and choose Manage cities. Choose yours and you’re done.
Beware of networks
There are times when the problem is in the network that the app uses, and not in the weather app itself. Therefore, if you see that the Weather is not updated, the most appropriate thing is to change the Network, either data or Wi-Fi.
