Why disable location?
The location that is normally saved with photos is integrated into the metadata of the photo. In this way when we share the image, anyone can easily see where the photo has been taken. It is also useful when an app, for example a social network, wants to show the site where the photo was taken. Something that can turn into something more dangerous if we do not want the place where the photo was taken to be known.
If we do not take precautions, the normal thing is that anyone who receives this photo can easily know the location where it has been taken , just by clicking on the details button. Well, for those cases we can deactivate the location. Which means that when your Motorola takes photos they will no longer be saved with this information, and therefore when they are forwarded no one will be able to access it. Something that can be done from your Motorola’s own camera settings.
How can the location be deactivated?
Well, it is very simple, and we do not suggest deactivating the location on the phone, something that could be effective, but that could affect the rest of the apps installed on the terminal, which would no longer have access to it.
In this case, it is best to deactivate the location only for the photographs, in such a way that while the location information will not be saved in the photo, it can be used in any other app without problems. To do this you have to do the following:
- Open the camera of your Motorola
- Click on the nut icon in the upper right
- Move to “Save Settings”
- Disable the “Save location” function
