Google Chrome is the most used browser in the world, but also the least secure. The data shows that the browser of the American company has become the historical leader in terms of total vulnerabilities . So you should be careful when traveling the Internet from your mobile if you don’t want a virus to take over the system.
Every day we use the browser of our smartphone to search for all kinds of content and as a general rule it is the Google search engine that we use the most. This is mainly due to the fact that the application is factory integrated into all Android devices, but also because it has a simple and uncomplicated interface, although this sometimes has negative consequences for the user.

Google Chrome is a constant danger
An investigation by Atlas VPN shows that Google Chrome has a plague of security problems that can endanger millions and millions of users . To get an idea, the search engine has more than 10 billion downloads in the Google Play Store, so it is a major drawback.
The investigation cites data collected through the vulnerability database known as VulDB . The platform indicates that Google Chrome has had up to 303 security breaches discovered throughout 2022 so far. In addition, it is the historical leader in terms of accumulated vulnerabilities, reaching a total of 3,159 .

In fact, of all the most popular browsers at the moment, Google’s browser is the only one that has experienced system vulnerabilities in October 2022. The truth is that these are worrying figures, especially if we take a look at the rest of the search engines that you can download on your smartphone.
Others are much safer.
They say that the comparisons are odious and Google could not agree more in this regard, since the rest of the browsers have figures that are too far from Google Chrome. For example, VulDB data indicates that Mozilla Firefox has only seen 117 vulnerabilities , while Microsoft Edge has only seen 103 breaches so far this year.
On the other hand, Safari, Apple‘s browser , has one of the lowest figures in its history. The iPhone search engine only had 26 vulnerabilities in these nine months of the year. Likewise, the total number of security flaws identified is 1,139, a figure that is almost three times less than that of Google Chrome.

In contrast, the Opera browser has not had a single vulnerability during 2022 and the cumulative total is 344 failures. Atlas VPN indicates in its report that both Google Chrome, Edge and Opera work on the Chromium engine and indicate that the failures of this system could end up affecting all these browsers.
To avoid any misfortune, it is important to always keep your browser updated to enjoy optimal security. In this sense, we must also be very careful with what we download on the Internet, be it an APK or any file.
