The direction of the car is one of the key points that we must attend to the most, since a large part and responsibility of it depends on it. Therefore, and as something typical of these, we must know that there are aspects such as wheel alignment , a task that we must do from time to time, but especially when certain specific cases occur to us.
Reset your settings to avoid problems

In fact, what we know is that incorrect steering alignment or tire balancing can have serious consequences for our safety and tire life , resulting in avoidable costs.
We are talking about what it means to restore its geometric configuration , adjust the steering mechanism and the suspension elements according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The objective, therefore, is none other than that the tires remain parallel and rest correctly on the asphalt, which prevents them from wearing irregularly and more quickly.
Given this, and in the event that the alignment of the wheels and the balancing of the car are not adequate, the consequences could be serious and generate problems that will later be much more expensive to repair.
If it tends to turn to one side…
There are some symptoms that help determine if we need to align early. Ideally, the steering wheel in a straight position should mean that our car is also going in a straight line. If it tends to twist to one side more intensely, or if the steering wheel offers more resistance than normal on one side, aligning the wheels is already necessary. This can be noticed, among other symptoms, when the steering wheel is stiff when turning, since the weight will not be distributed evenly.
It can also be identified with noises that we had not heard before, strange vibrations, especially in the steering wheel, or abnormal tire wear. Normally the professionals will warn us in the revisions or steps by the workshop that one or several wheels have irregular wear that may be linked to a lack of alignment, if any.
Instead, it can also be reviewed (although it may not affect too much) if it is a small bump against a curb or similar, since if we could previously have some type of symptom, that small bump could finish off the grievance. Not checking the tire pressure when it’s due also means that the tires don’t wear as they should, evenly.
How is the wheel alignment of our car
Both workshops and road traffic experts insist on its importance to prevent accidents, hence a well-aligned system will improve the vehicle’s response when taking curves, avoiding obstacles…
All this, in addition, favoring adherence, road safety, performance and fuel economy, thus reducing CO2 emissions from the car. With alignment, the original geometric conditions of the wheels are restored through high-precision measurements and adjustments.
This is done using what are called ‘ tire balancers ‘, which are the ones that detect unbalanced areas of the tire and rim set. Next, what the professionals do is place weights on the outside or inside of the rim, in the places detected by the machine, to compensate for the imbalance .
