What is the People Album and how does it work
The native iOS Photos application has the ability to recognize the faces of people in a photo and can group them together. Thanks to the functionality, folders are created where all these photographs are grouped under the name of the person who appears. This makes it much easier to locate and extract the memories of a specific face.
Photos allows you to use a very advanced computer vision to scan all the photographs on the film that allows you to recognize people, scenes and also all objects to be able to track them . Within each of the albums that are created, you can create memories or compilation movies with the best photographs at the ideal moments. This is a function that you will not notice that it is carried out since it is done in the background consuming the least possible resources. It is also available within the Apple ecosystem. That is, you can consult the albums on iPhone, iPad and even on the Mac. All teams work together, as long as you have the photos uploaded to iCloud, to perform this scan of their content.
Access the People albums
You may never have known about the existence of this function, but as we have mentioned before it is always done in the background . To be able to access this album of people you simply have to follow the following steps on iPhone, iPad or Mac:
- Open the Photos app.
- At the bottom click on ‘Albums’.
- Scroll to the section called ‘People and places’.
- Click on the ‘People’ folder.

In the event that you have used it on some occasion, or that you have photographs assigned to contacts, you will see that some images are named with the name of that person automatically.

Rename faces

Solve recognition problems

On some occasions the faces are duplicated within the album when different faces are detected since there can be very different variations.
