Amazon is an online store where we find practically everything and one of the things we look at when choosing an online store is how we can pay, what are the accepted payment methods. In this case, we explain Amazon’s payment methods : accepted ones, not accepted ones, how to pay in installments or how to buy or redeem gift cards in the store.

Accepted payment methods
You can pay on Amazon with the following methods:

Payment with bank account
You must add it to your payment methods by following the steps that we will explain at the end of this article and you will need a series of data: the IBAN and BIC numbers, instead of the bank identification code and the account number that Amazon asked you before.
Also, only some countries allow it. You can only pay in euros and the countries from which we can choose to pay with a bank account are the following: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France , Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland.
As collected from Amazon information, some orders do not allow this option. In addition, you must bear in mind that you may receive an additional fee of up to 3 euros if your bank rejects the direct debit payment for any reason in which you are guilty, for example.
Payment in various installments (Cofidis and Credit Line)
Cofidis offers payment in several installments and you can see it on the payment page when you buy a product on Amazon. You will see Pay in 4 or Credit Line and you will be redirected to a Cofidis form that you must fill out online. Of course, you must have previously registered a valid payment card in Amazon and the expiration date must not be less than four months. Complete the form, provide an electronic copy of the ID or passport, fill out the application and send it. Cofidis will review it and you will receive a response accepting the request or rejecting it. A financing of up to three months with Cofidis whose terms will be carried out as follows:
- Last product shipment date: D-Day
- First payment: Day D + 1 day
- Second payment: D-Day + 32 days
- Third payment: D-Day + 63 days
- Fourth payment: D-Day + 90 days
If you choose to pay in installments with Credit Line, you can finance in monthly installments up to 30 months. They explain from Amazon: “As soon as the complete order has been sent, the amount will be divided according to the number of payments you have chosen. Receipts are normally uploaded on the second day of the month. The deadline is between the 22nd and 27th of the month. If the shipping date is before the deadline, between the 22nd and the 27th of the month (M), the receipt will be charged on the second day of the following month (M + 1). If the shipment is made after that deadline, the receipt will be charged on the second day of M + 2 ”.
You can choose the financing between 75 and 3000. And once approved, Credit Line will appear as one of the payment methods on Amazon.com that you can choose in other purchases whenever you need it and without having to fill out the Codifis form again, as we have explained before.
Pay in 4 installments with Amazon
The 4-installment payment option with Amazon is available as a payment option on the product detail page and you cannot always choose it. It can only be used to purchase new Amazon devices or certified Refurbished Amazon devices, sold and shipped through Amazon.com. It will only be here when we see this payment option. Additionally, it can only be used to purchase one device per device family up to a maximum of three devices in your basket. That is, only one device per family refers to families or categories such as Amazon Fire TV, Echo devices or speakers, Fire tablets, or Kindle readers.
In addition, you must meet a series of requirements: be an Amazon customer for a year or more, be a resident of Spain, have a valid credit or debit card associated with your account that is not prepaid, and have a good “credit history”. previous payments ” at Amazon.com on other product purchases.
How does it work? The total price with VAT is charged in four equal installments according to a payment plan marked by Amazon: The first installment when it is sent, the second installment when 30 calendar days pass, the third when 60 calendar days pass and the fourth and last fee after 90 days from the date of shipment. You authorize to charge each installment with the selected payment and with the registered card.
Payment methods not accepted
At the moment, Amazon does not allow us to pay even when we receive the order (it does not accept cash on delivery) nor does it allow the use of secure platforms such as PayPal.

Amazon gift cards and checks
Amazon gift cards or checks are sent digitally or through a physical card and are an ideal gift because that person (or yourself) can spend the money on whatever they want and need.
Buy a gift voucher
To buy a gift voucher we can do it from Amazon for anyone you want. There are four options: gift vouchers with immediate or planned shipping, printable checks for birthdays or greetings, or checks by mail with free shipping and in a gift card box. There are also top-up options that work like the balance on any regular prepaid card.
From the Amazon.com Gift Certificate website you will see a series of different options and categories and you will be able to choose between several designs. That is to say, there is not only a gift card option but you can choose between something sober and classic or a birthday card with balloons, an anniversary card , a Merry Christmas. Once you choose the gift card or voucher, you can choose the amount between 20 and 1,000 euros and add it to the basket in the same way as any product you buy.
In the case of E-gift vouchers they work the same and allow recharging from 0.15 euros to 5,000 euros and there are different designs that we can choose from depending on the occasion. Once you choose, you can choose if it is standard, animated or with your photograph or personalized video and you choose the exact amount and how it is delivered (by email or SMS) You fill in the data with the messages for that person and the date and time at you want the email or SMS to be sent with the code.
Redeem codes
You can redeem Amazon gift vouchers that you have won in contests or sweepstakes or simply if someone has given you an Amazon credit card so you can buy whatever you want. The total amount of the gift voucher will be stored in your Amazon balance and is valid for ten years from the date of issue so you don’t have to worry if you don’t want to spend it on something immediately.
The redemption code for the gift voucher is 14 or 15 characters long and generally contains letters and numbers (for example, it may be similar to this: AS25-NJZ1JX-CZCP5) We can receive it via email if it is a gift or contest but also on physical cards. From Amazon, they explain “if you have a plastic gift card, you may have to” scratch or peel “the back protective layer to see the redemption code. To redeem it and add it to the balance, simply go to the web amazon.es/reedem Or, follow a few simple steps: Open account> Go to My account> Choose “Your payments”> Scroll> Search “Redeem a reagalo check” . How to register payment methods
You can add credit cards to pay on Amazon automatically. The steps are the following:
- Open Amazon
- Go to your account by tapping on “Account and lists”
- Choose “My account” in the dropdown
- Go to “Your payments” where you can manage them
From here you can see the credit and debit cards that you can have on Amazon. You will see the card type and the last four digits. Also, the expiration date. At the bottom you can s “Add another payment method”. You will see two options: Add a credit or debit card or add a bank account directly.
Simply tap on either of the two options (as you can see in the image below) and fill in the data. For the card you will need the card number and the name that it says, as well as the expiration date. For the bank account you will need the BIC (Swift code) and the IBAN in addition to the account holder.
