OPPO has put on the market the new Find X3 family, where the Find X3 Lite is the most modest device in the technical section. But as we usually say, that does not mean it has to be the least interesting or even the least sold of the series. To see what has changed in this generation, we wanted to face it with last year’s OPPO Find X2.
The OPPO Find X2 Lite has been one of the most interesting smartphones in the mid-range of the past year. The terminal has practically everything you can ask for in a terminal that boasts a good quality / price ratio, so let’s see if the Find X3 Lite is up to the task and if it is worth the change in case you have this model. We will also see which one will be more worth buying in chaos that you doubt between both models.
Screen, weight and thickness
We make the first stop to look at both screens. The first thing we see is that the size has hardly changed, counting the Find X3 Lite with a size of 6.43 inches compared to the 6.4 inches of the Find X2 Lite. In addition , the two terminals have an AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. However, the Find X3 Lite adds a refresh rate of 90 Hz, something that the previous generation lacked. Both are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 glass.
The Find X3 Lite manages to tighten the frames better with 85.1% of the usable front, compared to 84.3% of the Find X2 Lite. In addition, the notch of the Find X2 Lite is eliminated, in favor of a hole in the screen for the Find X3 Lite, something more in keeping with the times and that resembles its high-end brothers. In terms of weight and thickness, it is curious how the two maintain the data of 180 grams, and practically tie with the 7.9 millimeters of the Find X3 Lite versus the 8mm of the Find X3 Lite.
Processor and memory
Where we do not find changes, and it is something unusual, is in the configuration of the processor and memory. The two terminals have the same Snapdragon 765G , a mid-range chip that is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which is not expandable in either case. In addition, both have the UFS 2.1 file reading standard, so we did not find any change there either.
The cameras have changed
The next significant change appears in the cameras’ main sensor. Both have four rear cameras, but the Find X3 Lite has a 64-megapixel main sensor , compared to its brother’s 48-megapixel sensor. The rest of the configuration remains unchanged, with an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and macro and depth sensors of 2 megapixels each.
On the front, everything is still the same, with a 32 megapixel selfie sensor on both terminals. However, in the Find X3 Lite it is housed in a hole and in the Find X2 Lite it is in a small notch in the shape of a drop. But the two terminals can record video in 4K at a maximum of 30 fps and in FullHD at 60 fps. In addition, they can also record slow motion video at 120 fps in FullHD or up to 240 fps in 720p resolution.
Connections and battery
It is also difficult for us to find changes in the connections of both devices, which do not lack 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and even a 3.5mm headphone jack . But if we get picky, we see that the new Find X3 Lite has the USB-C 3.1 standard, compared to the USB-C 2.0 of the Find X2 Lite.
But the battery is another of the points where the Find X3 Lite justifies the new generation, since it has 4,300 mAh, which also has a 65W fast charge , which allows 100% of the battery to be charged in just 35 minutes. The Find X2 Lite, meanwhile, has a 4,025 mAh battery with a 30W charge, which charges 50% in about 20 minutes. Two two terminals move with the ColorOS layer, but only the Find X3 Lite does it with ColorOS 11 based on Android 11.
And what prices do they have?
We have seen important but perhaps not key differences for many users. The 90 Hz rate display, a new 64 megapixel sensor, and a larger battery with a much higher fast charge may seem like arguments enough. For this reason it is time to see the purchase prices of both terminals. The OPPO Find X2 Lite has dropped a lot in price over the months, and the truth is that it is now at a succulent 279 euros . The Find X3 Lite for its part, has just been released and is priced at 469 euros . This difference of 190 euros, may not be sufficient justification to make the change of generation.
