Sound is one of the most important elements of our mobile, but nevertheless, although the internal speakers have been improving by leaps and bounds, more and more people are opting for headphones. A way to listen to everything in a discreet way, be it music or voice notes, among many other things.
OnePlus has wanted to meet the wishes and needs of users, for this it has created a panel within OxygenOS that allows us to make the best use of our headphones. Some options that allow all OnePlus smartphones with OxygenOS 10 onwards, to be able to squeeze the sounds that reach our ears to the maximum and forget about some typical problems that we find in other smartphones.
All about OnePlus headphone mode
To launch this special OnePlus mode dedicated to sound with headphones , we just have to follow the simple process that we are going to explain, in which the options will be waiting for us to be configured to our liking. To make these changes it is not necessary to already have the headphones connected, but they will be established by default so that once our headphones go into operation with the mobile, they are applied without doing anything else.
The process to carry out to achieve all the possibilities in this way in our OnePlus is as follows:
- We begin by entering the Mobile Settings.
- Then we access the panel called Sound.
- We enter the so-called Headphone Mode.
This will leave us with all the options of the mentioned panel. Some adjustments to which we will be able to return whenever we want to compensate for the changes, customize them in another way or in general adapt them again.
The first option that we find within the OnePlus headphone mode is called automatic playback and what it does as you can imagine is to start the multimedia content. This is very useful to save us the intermediate step of having to open the music app again and start playing. A way to lighten the process and go directly to what interests us.
With a similar purpose, but focused on calls, we find the smart answer option. In this case, it is designed especially for wireless headphones, allowing us to answer the calls we are receiving as soon as the connection and the headphones are carried out. If we go down the street and receive a call, we will only have to turn on the headphones, place them on the ears and talk without even having to touch the mobile.
Another of the circumstances in which the OnePlus headphone mode is going to be of great help in our day to day life is based on the option called “Notification tone in headphones”. From here we will be able to decide if we want the notifications to sound in our headphones always, never or with a notification that does not bother and is less intrusive than other classic alternatives can be.
Last but not least there is also an option created to balance the sounds of the mobile and the headphones . With this option activated, the volume will be synchronized so as not to get an unpleasant surprise that could damage our ears.
Dolby Atmos, is another extra that although it is not within the OnePlus headphone menu it does sneak into OxygenOS for the brand’s smartphones. A way to optimize the sound of headphones and stereo speakers in Settings> Sound> Dolby Atmos. Whatever you are listening to, we recommend that you take a look at it and activate one of the many available sound modes.
Why aren’t the options working on my OnePlus?
In case you have followed all the steps and you are encountering a bug that does not apply to any of the news that we have previously granted, it is possible that there is a specific problem. To solve it, we will only have to unlink the headphones and link them again , a process that we do within Settings> Connections. This happens because the changes have not been able to be applied if it was already ringing a lot through the headphones and on other occasions due to a mere punctual error.
But if the situation continues, we will have to restart the headphones as well as the mobile. Something simple that is based on turning them off and on so that once the connection is carried out, we can enjoy those OnePlus own options that turn our basic headphones into all experts without having to spend too much money on them.
Is it compatible with all headphones?
Unlike other advanced options that we have seen in other Android smartphones, OnePlus offers compatibility with practically any type of headphones. It doesn’t matter if we have the classic headband, wired or wireless in-ear headphones.
The OnePlus customization layer has been specially developed in this mode so that we can squeeze these options without having to spend more money on a specific headset. Therefore, you do not have to do anything special to connect them, you will only need to use the audio jack if you have one, the USB Type C input if it is the method of our headphones or the Bluetooth connection. An option that is appreciated to get through software on the mobile and for a price even on the smartphone what many need or want.
Are you on more mobiles?
Although OPPO, Realme and OnePlus share many options, this is not the case. The function called headphone mode is only integrated in OxygenOS for the moment, making a difference in the face of much smaller possibilities in other brands. But this in turn does not appear in more Android models or in the iPhone.
The closest thing that we are going to find and a way to access similar options, but not identical and so complete, is in the apps of some headphones. The most premium brands offer exclusive applications from where we will be able to improve the experience, but in the case of OnePlus it will not be necessary to have a specific brand as we already mentioned.
