One UI 2.5 Update for Samsung Galaxy S9

Good news is coming for all users who have a Samsung S9 or S9 + in their hands. The Korean company is starting to launch one of the most important and long-awaited updates for both devices, and that will leave them from now on and we assume forever, with version 2.5 of the One UI layer . This update brings the Galaxy S9 family back to life , and comes just a few days after the landing of the same version for the Note 9.

One UI 2.5 Update for Samsung Galaxy S9

We were waiting for this update, since after the arrival of One UI 2.5 to the Galaxy Note 9, everything indicated that its replica in the Galaxy S9 should not walk very far. This stable version arrives with firmware version G96xFXXUCFTJ2 and is being released via OTA. The SamMobile medium ensures that the update is beginning to arrive in Germany , so its implementation in other nearby markets including Spanish should be imminent.

Important news

Key new features in this update include wireless DeX support. This feature allows you to run DeX wirelessly on any TV that supports screen mirroring, so you can use the mobile screen as a touch panel. It is a variant of the desktop DeX, with fewer options but ideal for running presentations and using the television as a second screen.

As with its brothers in the Note family, with this update a more complete Samsung keyboard with the YouTube search function is enabled. The ability to split the keyboard is also possible to be able to type more comfortably and quickly in horizontal mode . In addition, the camera also receives improvements such as the ability to adjust the duration of the recording in Capture mode. You can also choose the resolution and “fps” of those videos that have been recorded with the Pro mode. For terminals, the “Messages” application allows you to execute emergency messages, which can be sent to a chosen contact every 30 minutes during 24 hours.

And here we come

The update will come as a notification to the owners of these terminals. However, we can always go to the Settings / System Updates menu and try to force the update manually. It must be borne in mind, that except for the security updates, we are facing the last great update of the Galaxy S9, which will end its useful life with Android 10 in its gut, so it will not receive the news of One UI 3.0 based on Android 11, however capable the terminals are still.
