Han Solo has been one of the main characters in Star Wars since the premiere of the first film in 1977, although, to tell the truth, his true relevance did not come until the 2015 premiere of The Force Awakens , when the new arc The plot devised by JJ Abrams decided that the old smuggler’s bloodline was going to have a direct impact on the fate of the Galaxy.
That is something that, moreover, is not reflected in the official film that was released in 2018 and that was not very well received despite being a project sponsored by one of the most renowned Hollywood screenwriters of the last 40 years. Neither more nor less than Lawrence Kasdan (and his son) was in charge of telling us everything we didn’t know about Han Solo until practically the beginning of Star Wars .
More life inside inside the comic world
As a good Star Wars product , Han Solo does not live alone in the movies and has starred in numerous comics in which he has appeared as one of the key characters of that universe but also as a true center of attention in the role of the protagonist of series such as those of War of the Bounty Hunters by Charles Soule, who found a way to bring back an old character from the film like Qi’ra (his great love, played by Emilia Clarke in the movies), although nothing compared to what that reveals another collection such as Han Solo & Chewbacca , by Marc Guggenheim and David Messina.
That last volume of Han Solo’s adventures are, to put it quickly, the best way for fans of the character to learn about the events that should have been narrated in a supposed continuation of that first film, so if you want to satisfy your curiosity, don’t they have more to go to its pages to clear up doubts about how the smuggler, bandit and cheeky continues his particular battle against an Empire that extends its tentacles throughout the Galaxy.
But there is something else…
But in this new volume of Han Solo & Chewbacca there is one last gift for the fans of the character and it is none other than to see how his relationship with Corellia continues, his home planet, the one from which we see him escape in Ron Howard’s film. It will be in this environment when (and watch out, SPOILERS are coming) we find that resting in a bar he begins to talk with a veteran with whom he will soon ramble and remember the old days of building large ships and boats in space shipyards. Ovan, that is his name, soon realizes that the one he is talking to is his son Han , Han Solo.
This revelation occurs in the midst of a change in the canon of the character, who seems to have left behind his Legends in which his father was known by the name of Jonash, so having seen what we have seen, we will have to take as important what the new reveals.
