Sony has never entered the war of the ” Lite ” models, leaving these “cut” phones for other firms such as Huawei or Xiaomi. However, it has worked on compact models that limit some of its specifications with respect to its range brothers in order to land on the market at a more competitive price. That is why it is so striking that the manufacturer now launches in its country of origin, exclusively for the moment, a new phone called Xperia 8 Lite .
It has exactly the same body and the same specifications as the Xperia 10, launched in February 2019, with one difference: The rear camera changes the characteristics of its main sensor. This is the only notable change to the phone.

For this reason the characteristics of the Xperia 8 Lite will sound familiar to many. Inside, the phone houses a Snapdragon 630 chipset manufactured in 14 nm that was introduced more than three years ago. The screen remains a 6 ″ LCD panel with Full HD + resolution and an ultra-high ratio of 21: 9. The smartphone also has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
As we have advanced, its great novelty is in the camera module , where Sony has implemented a 12 MP main man with f / 1.8 aperture along with an 8 MP secondary with f / 2.4 aperture. For comparison, the Xperia 10 had a 13 MP f / 2.0 + 5 MP f / 2.4 depth sensor. Without the brand explaining the type of lens, the 8 MP camera could be a depth sensor although the company claims that the phone has a 2x optical zoom.
