News Regarding the MIUI 12 Update for the Redmi 8

Lately there is some confusion regarding Xiaomi updates. Just a few days ago we were talking about the smartphones of the brand that will be left without Android 11 but, before going that far, there are still many users waiting for the latest Xiaomi operating system, MIUI 12.

News Regarding the MIUI 12 Update for the Redmi 8

A perfect example of this we have in the users of the Redmi 8, who recently received the update to Android 10 but, contrary to what many thought, with the customization layer of MIUI 11 and not MIUI 12. For this reason there are many who keep asking when the latest version of the software will arrive on their devices.

Fortunately, Xiaomi has responded.

MIUI 12 Redmi 8

In the company’s support center, its community forum, several users have opened a thread asking about the MIU I12 update for the Redmi 8 . On this occasion, a moderator and person in charge of the forum declared “Wait for the official announcement, the update will be released soon .

Ready for the end of the year?

In early October it was reported that the update for the Redmi 8 could arrive at the end of the same month. However, that did not happen and the smartphone received the October security update without the last layer of customization. After this it was reported that said update for the device in question could have been delayed to an unknown date at the end of this year.

Asking more of the brand’s managers privately, one of them replied that this long-awaited update will arrive before the end of the year. However, it would not be the first time that these promises have fallen on deaf ears and are simply a way of “giving an answer” to users to calm down.

MIUI 12 Redmi 8

Today what we have is the confirmation that the smartphone will receive MIUI 12 so users can rest assured. What is more difficult to know is when, but most likely, we hope, is that MIUI 12 will arrive on the Redmi 8 along with the November security patch, this being the month chosen to release the expected update.

Unfortunately, neither we nor Xiaomi itself dare to put our hand in the fire and the only thing we can do is wait to see if the update message via OTA lands on our mobile phone sooner rather than later. Remember that you can always “force” the appearance of this message from the mobile Settings, selecting Device update.
