When we were expecting the firm to present its Redmi 9 today , it changes third and launches a version of a phone we already know. And, as you can all imagine, this new Redmi 8A Dual, is an improved version of the 8A in a certain sense, since both phones share many features but the one that has just been presented sports a double camera on the back.
The fault that Redmi has been forced to move token and launch a review of its cheap Redmi 8A really has it. The Xiaomi competitor recently presented the Realme C3, for a price close to 100 euros. It surpasses the Redmi 8A thanks to a double camera that now also appears in this new version of the cheap Xiaomi mobile.
Features of the Redmi 8A Dual
The mobile arrives on the market with a plastic back that boasts the Aura X Grip design for a better grip on the hand, along with a P2i nano-coating that makes the smartphone splash resistant. On the front, we have a 6.22-inch IPS screen with an aspect ratio of 19: 9 and an HD + resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels . It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and hides its front camera in a small water drop shaped notch.
Under this panel we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 CPU, an octa-core processor running at a speed of 2 GHz that is complemented with an Adreno 505 GPU. These features are similar to those of the Redmi 8A, such as its 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512 GB with a microSD card.
The smartphone is completed with a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging of 18 W through its USB Type-C port, as well as dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.2, a headphone jack 3.5 mm and FM radio. All governed by MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.
New camera
The great novelty of the Redmi 8A Dual is in its camera department, as the mobile opts for a dual camera configuration with LED flash. At the front of it we have a 13MP main camera with f / 2.2 aperture and AI functions that is flanked by a 2MP depth sensor with f / 2.4 aperture. An 8MP camera with an f / 2.0 aperture for selfies is included on the front.
Price and availability
Available for purchase in navy blue, sky white and midnight gray, the Redmi 8A Dual can be purchased in two configurations in India from next week:
- Redmi 8A Dual with 2GB + 32GB: 6499 Rs (about 84 euros)
- Redmi 8A Dual with 3GB + 32GB: 6,999 Rs (about 90 euros)
