The new rumors and leaks that come to us from the vicinity of the Chinese company speak of one of those strange movements that Xiaomi has us used to … from time to time. The firm, after launching the Xiaomi Mi 11 a month ago, would be thinking of relaunching the Xiaomi Mi 10 with a curious processor change.
As every fan of the manufacturer should know, both the Xiaomi Mi 10 and the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro that saw the light of the first quarter of 2020 housed inside the same CPU, a Snapdragon 865 chipset manufactured in 7 nm and that has 8 cores divided into 8 Kryo 585 cores running at 2.8 GHz, accompanied by an Adreno 650 GPU.
Well, Xiaomi now wants to launch the same mobile but, according to rumors, with a Snapdragon 870 processor commanding the Hardware. Digital Chat Station claims in a Weibo post that Xiaomi is preparing a Mi 10 model powered by the newly announced processor, slightly faster than the phones’ original chipset.
The Snapdragon 870 is nothing more than an overclocked Snapdragon 865 Plus, capable of reaching a clock speed of 3.2GHz instead of 3.1GHz which would mean that the big difference between the two models would be somewhat better performance. Something that does not make much sense when the Snapdragon 865 is already an excellent chipset.
The leakster did not detail the name or suffix of the Mi 10 device that this processor will wear, but this is not the first time that the existence of a Xiaomi phone with Snapdragon 870 has been mentioned. Qualcomm itself confirmed that Xiaomi will use this CPU in a future “flagship”.
Better bring the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra
On a personal note, instead of meeting again with a Xiaomi Mi 10 with a change as minimal as the processor , I would prefer that the brand distribute its most spectacular mobile to date, even more than the new Mi 11.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is one of the best phones that we have had the pleasure of testing, boasting a camera like never before seen in a team from the Chinese firm, a battery with a fast charge of up to 120W, up to 16 GB of RAM, a high quality OLED screen and a very elegant design.
Unfortunately, our wishes seem to fall on deaf ears because today the only opportunity we have to get hold of this mobile is to resort to import stores, operating with a ROM that is neither European nor global.
