Windows ads, banners or pop-ups are something that nobody likes. Being working with the computer and suddenly seeing a floating window that warns us of something, whatever it is, the truth is that it is quite annoying. However, there are times when these windows appear for a good cause, to warn users of an imminent danger, as is the case with the new notice that, from today, appears to all users who have Flash installed on their computers.
We have been waiting for it for a long time, and it has finally arrived. Today is the last day that Adobe Flash Player is supported . As of January 1, 2021, the add-on will be officially abandoned, and will become part of Internet history. However, it will not be until next January 12, 2021 when all content running Flash is permanently blocked.

Windows, on the one hand, has already phased out this add-on through Windows Update updates. And the same happens with Chrome , Edge and Firefox browsers , which already have the add-on disabled and ready to be permanently removed with their next updates. However, what about users who installed Flash by hand on their computers?
Pop-up notice in Windows: delete the Adobe plugin as soon as possible
The latest version of Flash created, without prior notice, a scheduled task to show users who still had the Adobe plugin installed a notice like the following.

If this warning has not yet appeared, we can force it ourselves by executing the following command:
"C:/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash/FlashUtil32_32_0_0_465_pepper.exe" -update pepperplugin
This floating window reminds us that, as of tonight, the plug-in will be abandoned by Adobe, and it will not receive any kind of support. It also reminds us that the company will block the execution of all Flash content as of January 12, leaving the plug-in for good. The Adobe window offers us two options: on the one hand, postpone the notice until later, and on the other hand, uninstall the plug-in right away.
Of course, the correct option is this second.
Delete Flash from Windows: the last thing you should do before the end of 2020
Starting tomorrow, having Flash installed on your PC will not only be useless, but also dangerous. It is well known that the Adobe plug-in has serious vulnerabilities that endanger our PC. And it is also known that, once their support ends, these vulnerabilities will begin to be exploited en masse by the network.
Therefore, unless we use Flash and we need it 100%, we must uninstall the Adobe plugin from our computer as soon as possible. We can do this from the previous notice that will appear if we have it installed. Or also from the Settings menu as if it were just another program.
In case we need to continue using this add-on, we can use a safe alternative to Flash that allows us to continue playing this content. The only thing we will miss in order to support this add-on will be the large number of games and animations that are going to be lost. For the rest, we will all win in safety and performance.
Goodbye Flash, we won’t miss you.
