Mobile manufacturers are more and more given to expanding their horizons and offering us something more than phones in their catalog. OPPO is a clear example of this. The company has deployed a new arsenal of products this week, including two new televisions, the TV S1 and TV R1 , with features that have nothing to envy the traditional firms in the sector. We give you all the details.
OPPO TV S1, up to 65 inches of splendid OLED
The first series presented by the Asian firm has been the OPPO TV S1. Composed of two models, which differ mainly in size (65 or 55 inches to choose from), the range boasts an OLED panel with 4K resolution and Quantum Dot image technology with wide spectrum color. Its NTSC color gamut is 120%, which translates into purer and more vivid graphics, while you will also enjoy, according to the manufacturer, a smoother and more fluid color transition with a variable refresh rate (eye to the who like to play on TV, because this is interesting) 120 Hz.
The TV will not forget about HDR compatibility , Dolby Vision and offers a brightness of 1500 nits. All framed by a very thin bezel, 1.85 mm, which is responsible for giving body to the equipment while maintaining a fairly minimalist design.
The TV enjoys no less than 18 stereo speakers to provide the user with surround sound, with a total power of 85W, supporting 5.1.2 channels and Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. They are also supported by Dynaudio, the Danish speaker manufacturer, with whom OPPO has worked closely to develop the acoustic framework for its new TV.
The Smart TV does not forget the HDMI 2.1 interface, the WiFi 6 or the NFC module (for a fast pairing, for example with the mobile phone and thus manage its functions from the phone). At the interface level, of course, it pulls the house, with ColorOS, the same present in their smartphones, but adapted to the TV experience. It also has a pop-up webcam.
OPPO TV R1, the cheapest option
Not everyone can afford an OLED TV at home (we’ll talk about prices a little later), so a more discreet model, the TV R1, has also been launched for the rest of us. Even so, this team does not skimp on qualities, since we again find a 55 or 65-inch panel with 4K resolution , only now the panel is an LCD type with LED backlighting.
The Smart TV boasts of having a screen with a ratio of 96% with respect to the body of the television, with frames that again look at their minimum expression to give only importance to the image. Speaking of this, it enjoys a coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut color of 93% and although it does not have the refreshment at 120 Hz, it does come with at least MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation) technology, which is responsible for compensating the images in motion so that they are more fluid and pleasant to watch.
The OPPO TV R1 television is equipped with a quad-core processor and high-speed WiFi 6, in addition to offering HDMI 2.1 connection, 20W Dolby Audio sound , NFC module, Color OS operating system and even integrated pop-up webcam, combined with a microphone.
Price and availability of OPPO TVs
At the moment the new Smart TVs of the house will only be available in their homeland, with a price that starts, in the case of the Smart TV S1 , from 7,999 yuan (practically 1,020 euros). Even so, during the famous Single’s Day, on November 11 (a very prone day for purchases in the Chinese community), it will drop to 6,999 yuan (about 890 euros at the change, which is not bad at all).
As for the R1 TV , its cost is somewhat lower, situated at 3,299 yuan (about 420 euros) for the 55-inch version and 4,299 yuan (about 550 euros at the change) for the 65-inch version.
