Autumn is usually the month in which Amazon launches new generations of its dozens of its own products. Specifically, Amazon today announced the new Kindle Paperwhite model in two versions: Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition , with new features in terms of connectivity and functionality.
Larger screen, 10 week battery and more
The new Kindle Paperwhite features a 6.8-inch screen , the largest on a Kindle Paperwhite, and with thinner bezels of just 10.2mm. The resolution is maintained at 300 dpi , without reflections and with the classic electronic ink that offers a user experience similar to that of reading a normal paper book in bright light. The new model offers 10% more light at maximum brightness when using LED lighting, plus adjustable warm light and white-on-black dark mode for easy reading at any time.
The battery in both models lasts up to 10 weeks , which is the longest battery life in the Paperwhite range to date. The connector this year finally becomes USB C, also offering fast charging that takes only 2 and a half hours to make a full charge with a charger of at least 9 W.
The differences between the two new models is that the base model has 8GB of storage , while the Signature Edition has 32GB of storage , as well as wireless charging so you never have to worry about running out of battery. The wireless charging is Qi, so it is compatible with all wireless chargers on the market; even with reversible mobile charging. Both models also have IPX8 water resistance , so we can safely use it in the bathtub, jacuzzi, pool or sea.
At the software level, the interface has been completely redesigned, with new functionalities to make the user experience easier and more intuitive when opening books, scrolling through the library, accessing new content, etc. In addition, we can pair devices in fewer steps with the Kindle app for iOS and Android, being able to adjust elements such as brightness, airplane mode or dark mode without leaving where you are. Some of these shows will arrive before the end of the year.
