To start using New Folder Wizard the first thing we must do is download it for free . It is a portable application, so it does not require any type of installation, whose executable file does not exceed 200 kb and although it is no longer supported by its developers, it still works really well on Windows 10. It can be run on systems 32 and 64 bit and requires Framework 2.0 for its execution.
Once we run the NewFolderWizard.exe file, a window will appear with its wizard that we can move and place along the screen, where its main menu appears completely in English. From this menu we will have access to all the necessary functions to perform and automate the creation of folders. In addition, it has a preview so that it will give us the possibility to correct any error that we find in the list that we make, allowing us to copy them to the Windows clipboard if necessary.
Create large number of folders from your main menu
The first thing to do is select the destination folder with Target Folder at the top. Later, we have the properties of the folder, where we can choose the Prefix (Folder Prefix) and the Suffix (Folder Suffix), which define the beginning and end of the name that the folders will carry. In the section of completion number (Ending Number) we can establish a range between 0 and 20,000, so that we can create at once up to 20,000 folders per click.
Once the destination folder data, prefix, suffix and folder numbers to be created have been entered, we will use the preview window to check how they will look and, if necessary, repair any error we may have made. For this we will click on the Preview tab and a preview of how our folders will look like will appear. We also have the option to copy the list to the Windows clipboard by pressing the Copy List button. Once reviewed and verified that everything is correct we will proceed to create the folders using the Create!
Create multiple folders from one text file
New Folder Wizard also offers us a second resource, in case we want to use a text file as a source to name the folders. To do this we will use and mark the function Use text file for folder names ( Use text file for folder names ). This function also allows us to mark prefixes (Also use prefix), suffixes (Also use suffix), use comment characters (Use Comment Character), as well as use tab for subfolders (Use tabo r Sub-Folders).
In this way, let’s imagine that we have a TXT file with a list of names with which we want to create a list of folders. It will be as simple as clicking Browse and selecting the file, as well as using prefixes, suffixes, etc. To check the result, click on Preview to see the previous list.
