Netflix is constantly making changes to its platform, adding new functionalities or offering new designs. Now it is time to renew its interface for children , where Kids receives interesting changes to facilitate its use by the youngest when it comes to discovering new content.
Netflix is starting to roll out its new kid-friendly interface . The platform announced a few hours ago the premiere of its new interface for children, which changes the way content appears. Adult profiles have horizontal rows with personalized recommendations that appear as you go down. However, for children now the interface will show their favorite titles, as well as a selection of their favorite characters to access their content more quickly.

New Netflix interface for Kids: more visual and better adapted
Until now, Kids profiles had a similar design to adults, with recommendations that showed the most popular content and other recommendations from the Netflix library. Now, they will have easier access to the content they want to see based on the characters.

To personalize each row, Netflix uses information about what content has been viewed to improve recommendations. Thanks to this, it detects which are the favorite characters of children to offer content in which they appear, as well as other related or that they may like, including its own productions and licensed content. When a character is selected, the background is adapted to show the image of the series or movie to which they belong.
The way adults consume content differs from that of children
The reason for making these changes is that kids typically browse Netflix visually. An example is young children using tablets to access content, when sometimes they are not old enough to read, but to watch baby series on Netflix.
The new interface will be first reaching TV applications around the world, but it will also reach mobile phones and tablets in the coming months .
The adult interface, for now, will remain as it is, despite the fact that it has not received major changes for two years. The current interface is modern, fast and helps users quickly discover new content, so there is little point in making changes at the moment. In the case of children it is different, since this will allow them to use an interface more adapted to them.
