It is the first recommendation and the first step that we will have to carry out. Our first step should be to remove the SIM card and the microSD if you have it and reinsert it. Then we turn off the mobile and turn it on again to see if after entering the PIN, we have a good signal and we can make and receive calls.

If we have been able to enter the PIN of our card, but there is no way to find a signal, it will be impossible for us to make or receive calls. It should be remembered that if we are in a hurry, the emergency attention number 112 should continue to work so that we can be attended to in case of need. But if we are not in trouble and we simply want our turn signal , we will have to try the following steps:

  • Whenever possible, we should move to another area where we can receive a signal, for example, outdoors.
  • Deactivate airplane mode if activated
  • Turn off the phone and turn it on again.
  • Check for phone updates from Settings / System / System Updates
  • Check that the preferred network type is set to Global: Settings / Internet and networks / Mobile network / Preferred network type. If we notice problems from when it’s set to Global, try a different setting. The question is to alternate between the options until seeing if the problem disappears.
  • Enter Safe Mode to try to find out if the installed applications may be causing the problem.

There is a signal but you cannot call

It is another of the most common problems and may be due to a network configuration problem. In this case, the best solution is to reset the network settings. This option will erase the settings of all networks including mobile data, but also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. For this we enter Settings / System / Advanced / Reset options. Now we tap on Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile data and Bluetooth / Reset settings. Once done, we must restart the mobile and test if the problem has disappeared.

It is a cause that causes many users to be unable to answer calls correctly . As before, we will have to do several checks, which in most cases solve the problem.

  • Check the volume settings.
  • Disable Do Not Disturb Mode

Unable to answer calls

This is one of the most frustrating cases, since in this case we have a signal and incoming calls are made, but we are unable to answer the call . The screen is blocked when a call comes in or does not allow us to click on the answer button. In this case, we will have two solutions on hand to fix the problem:

  • Delete the data of the Phone app: we will keep pressing the phone app and then click on the “i”. We go into storage and tap on “Free up storage space” Then the data and cache of the app will be deleted. The last step is to reboot and check if the problem has been fixed.
  • The second step is to check that the notifications in the Phone application have not been disabled. To do this, press and hold the Phone app once more and click on “i”. Then click on “Notifications” and check that they are active.
