Mobile cameras have become gigantic and it does not seem that they are going to change

The aesthetic section of mobile phones has evolved from a few years ago until now, where most of the devices opt for a similar design line . This aspect has been changing as the modules where the smartphone cameras are located have, adopting increasingly larger sizes and occupying a greater surface area on the back.

Previously, phones had a series of lenses that, generally speaking, were located vertically in the upper center area of the case. However, to improve the photographic results it was necessary to bet on sensors with larger dimensions and this is reaching unimaginable limits.

Mobile cameras have become gigantic

The cameras take up almost the entire phone

A Twitter user has published a DTCHAT image showing the latest generation mobile phones from the main companies in the mobile phone sector. In such a capture you can see several launches, such as the following:

  • Huawei Mate 50 Pro
  • Xiaomi 12S Ultra
  • I live X90 Pro+
  • OnePlus 11
  • Honor Magic5 Pro
  • OPPO Find X6 Pro

Up to 6 devices that, curiously, come from Chinese brands share a similar appearance in regards to the module where the lenses are. In fact, even the size of the configuration is virtually identical with the exception of the OnePlus 11, which looks a bit smaller than the rest.

Be careful, because not everyone is committed to a circular module, since the new Xiaomi 13 family that is about to arrive in Spain provides a breath of new air in this regard. Proof of this is that it opts for a set of cameras in a square-shaped module, although its dimensions are also considerable, but they are not as colossal as the cases we see above.

One of the exceptions to the norm when it comes to these gigantic module sizes is Samsung. The South Korean company is going to provide the vast majority of its releases with the design that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts . This means that the cameras will be integrated into the case itself, giving the device a smooth and premium finish.

Does bigger size mean better photos?

The evolution of the photographic results of smartphones is commendable. Today one can obtain high-quality images at any time and place without having to use a camera. In fact, there are those who use their smartphone for their work environment in the event that they need captures of any kind.

However, to enjoy the best possible photos, you have to go to the high-end models. Many may think that having larger lenses translates into better images, but nothing is further from the truth. There are three specific cases that serve as an example perfectly, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22, iPhone 14 and Google Pixel 7 , which do not have modules of colossal dimensions. The key is in the sensor used for it and in this sense there are several sizes available, but being bigger does not mean anything.
