After the development of MIUI 11 has been definitively closed, the Xiaomi team has set to work to send us the news of MIUI 12, the latest version of one of the most popular customization layers, as soon as possible. This new update will come from Android 11, the operating system that is also under development.
The developer team has already shown some of the changes that are still polishing, allowing us to get an idea of what we will find once it is released definitively. It is true that there are aspects that we do not yet know, such as what will be the tricks of the Xiaomi customization layer that take so much care so that users get more out of their devices.
Gestures and navigation bar are integrated
One of the changes that we have seen in the majority of devices that integrate Android 10 this year has been the gesture system, but Xiaomi had not decided to integrate it yet. With MIUI 12 the gesture system will finally arrive, allowing us to slide the bottom bar laterally to switch between multitasking applications.
Multitasking can be consulted and displayed as before by gesturing towards the central part, encountering changes also in the animations of the system.
Dark mode is applied throughout the system
Although in MIUI 11 we already have a dark mode, it only affects the basic settings of our mobile, applications adapted by the company itself and third-party applications such as Instagram that already integrate it. Xiaomi wants to go further and that is why the so-called global dark mode will be the next step that it will offer us at MIUI 12.
With this new option we will be able to apply the dark mode in applications that have not developed it, following the example of other developers from the Asian continent such as OPPO that already integrate it. The company is working so that in addition, the wallpapers are also modified when we activate this option, taking more advantage of AMOLED screens.
New notification drawer and improved clipboard
Among the news that will appear with MIUI 12 we find a notification drawer where the company will group everything we have received by applications or even by categories. With this, we try to order the chaos we can find when we have several unread notifications and make it easier for users.
When touching on a text space we will also find a significant change, since we will not only have the option to paste text or copy it, we will also be shown a clipboard with history of everything we have used previously. This function will allow us to control texts, documents and, ultimately, everything we have to do more comfortably.
Security will also go one step further, with the possibility of knowing the data that each application has had access to and modifying it quickly.
