Since the arrival of MIUI 12 to Xiaomi phones we have not stopped encountering small changes that are being applied little by little to the customization layer. Until now there had not been too many, beyond the news that MIUI 12 brings with it, such as the privacy options in Xiaomi, although now months later the new camera design in MIUI 12 has been known that will reach users.
This renewal thus adds to the changes that Xiaomi usually keeps up its sleeve and it is that not everything depends on the code of the personalization layer, but sometimes it just takes a monthly security patch to find big changes. On other occasions the news comes in the form of an update of one of the own apps and this time it turns out to be a combination of both.
Changes to the MIUI 12 camera
When accessing the new Xiaomi camera we find a new More section, which is as up to now at the end of the options for photo, video or portrait. In it we previously had an “outdated” design based on circles with a small icon now and it integrates fully with the MIUI 12 style to keep it in the camera application as well.
The blocks to use each of the camera functions in Xiaomi grow, leaving us two columns and thus making it easier for us to read the function together with a small identifying icon with a material design style. However, if for some reason we do not like this change, we just have to touch at the top of the screen and it will change to the one we had previously. This is not all, because to the modes that we had before others have been added such as the Vlog or the Stickers Avatars, options that have not reached all smartphones with MIUI 12 in Spain.
In addition, some interesting functions have been shown in the options, such as a beauty mode that could be used combined with messaging applications, for now only designed for WeChat but can be exported for other apps. Also a section to choose how we want to see the camera modes.
When will this camera change arrive on my mobile?
For now, we have been able to see this function only in the last beta launched in China, a preliminary version that could still take a while to reach Europe and Spain. To finally reach our mobile it is currently necessary that we have MIUI 12 and also Android 11, but once these functions leave the beta they would not be so demanding.
This means that with only having MIUI 12 on our mobile we can have this design and changes in the camera . What is certain is that only Xiaomi phones with MIUI 12 will be able to enjoy it and therefore the first thing will be to know when our Xiaomi mobile is updated to MIUI 12. Then it will be a matter of waiting at least 2 weeks for the beta version to end and be send little by little to all users.
