Xiaomi‘s Mi 10T series was launched in September 2020 as an inexpensive alternative to the firm’s large range caps, marketed a few months earlier. These smartphones arrived in stores with MIUI 12 , but with software based on Android 10 and not Android 11 as many might think.
There are many users who have been waiting for this long-awaited update for a while, even more so if we consider that the Chinese variant of the mobile, the Redmi K30s, already received the Android 11 update a while ago through the closed beta channel of MIUI. Luckily now the wait comes to an end and the brand has begun the launch of the stable version of Android 11 for the users of the Mi 10T / 10T Pro, yes, in India.
Improvements for the Xiaomi Mi 10T
The Android 11 update for the Xiaomi Mi 10T reaches mobile phones in the Asian region with the build number V12.1.1.0.RJDINXM and has the security patches from January 2021. Of course, although it arrives with the latest Android version, the build is still based on MIUI 12 , not MIUI 12.5, so users who want to try the honeys of the new customization layer of the Chinese firm will not be able to do so yet.
The good news is that, unlike the Chinese ROM, this version does have Google services and applications, since it is made for the Indian model. This means that its launch in more regions, including European and Spanish, would be quite close, although there is no date for it at the moment.
If you want to test the software, at your own risk, you can download the ROM from this link and, as long as you have the mobile bootloader unlocked, install the package using TWRP.
As with the rest of Xiaomi smartphones that will be updated to Android 11, the Xiaomi Mi 10T that are updated with the latest version of the operating system will be able to work with better permission management, a renewed interface, new animations and options privacy settings to keep user data safe.
At a functional level we also have a new control center with new options to manage the device or the compatibility with wireless Android Auto, the new chat bubbles or the controls for the brand’s smart devices without leaving the mobile phone.
