MIUI 12.5 Launches a New Incognito Mode on Xiaomi Phones

Xiaomi continues to take giant steps to continue offering its users more news and better within its personalization layer. One of the latest to come through an update to MIUI 12.5 is the new incognito mode . This new functionality of the Chinese manufacturer’s mobiles is very reminiscent of a function that was announced during the Google I / O 2021 event. In it, it was shown that Android 12 would focus much more on the privacy and security of its devices.

Although it is still unknown if Xiaomi’s first Android 12-based ROM will coincide or not with the launch of the long-awaited MIUI 13, the truth is that the Asian firm has now decided to implement this novelty that many will surely like. Basically because with this new tool you will be able to block certain elements of your mobile with a single click, without having to go to the settings of each component.

MIUI’s Incognito Mode

This time it has done so by implementing a new incognito mode capable of suspending different permissions from our own mobile device. And a very clear objective: to protect our privacy from any application in which we have given access to a certain component of our Xiaomi.

Modo Incógnito Xiaomi

This news has come through the latest closed beta of MIUI 12.5 , with a firmware number 21.6.28. In it, the Asian company has begun to implement this mode that can be found in the Privacy section within the configuration of the layer itself. And as we said, its purpose is to increase our privacy to achieve authentic protection, since we will be able to suspend with a single click all the permissions that are related and that we have granted on the location, the microphone and the camera of our terminal.

Therefore, after activating the incognito mode in the MIUI settings , the permissions that we had given to the different applications installed on our smartphone will be removed automatically. In addition, with this we will prevent these apps from being able to register our location, capture audio from our microphone or video through the camera.

It is also achieved that the different applications cannot collect our data. In this way, Xiaomi manages to significantly improve our privacy, since we will cut off access to these components of our phone. And everything points to this functionality being part of the news that we will see in the future in MIUI 13.
