Mercedes Hyperscreen with MBUX, the Screen of the Future EQS

Mercedez-Benz has introduced the Hyperscreen, or what could be the mother of all interactive screens. If you are one of those who when looking for a new vehicle looks especially at the screens from which to operate the infotainment systems, then it is time you pay attention to what is new from Mercedes.

Eyes on the road, hands on the wheel and mind on the hyperscreen

The German manufacturer has presented its new Hyperscreen , a gigantic panel made up of three individual screens that aims to give a completely futuristic look to the dashboard of the new EQS that will hit the streets at the end of 2021. This huge screen will be controlled by the MBUX environment of Mercedes, of which we had previously been able to see great things, but that with this addition will give a quite important leap in functionalities.

Why do I need such a big screen?

If you are asking yourself this question you are probably in the wrong place, but if for some reason the 56 inches offered by this Hyperscreen seem obscene to you, a ride in the new EQS has probably changed your mind quickly. Basically there will be a screen on the instrumentation panel, a second large screen in the center of the dashboard to gather the multimedia and general control functions, and a third one placed in the front of the passenger to offer extra content to said passenger, as they could. be movies, the GPS navigator or many of the functions of the vehicle.

All screens will offer haptic response so that we feel each keystroke, however, many of the options will be available so that we only have to think of a voice command to execute them, thus allowing us not to let go of our hands from the wheel or take our eyes off the road.

An element of luxury

Considering that the screen will debut with the new EQS, it is easy to think that this element will be a somewhat exclusive option that will not be available to everyone. The EQS will be Mercedes’ first electric model within the S-Class luxury range.

Large screens for electricians

Since tesla democratized power-packed EVs, dashboard displays have grown dramatically as more manufacturers joined the electric option. This, on the other hand, has raised significant concern about the extent to which these large screens manage to distract the driver, something that Mercedes seems to want to control with its MBUX interface and all the smart functions that it will integrate.

And the system will be able to identify routines, such as a phone call that we make every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. In that case, the vehicle will be able to prepare the contact just in those days so that we only have to click on the call, being able to identify if the driver is another person so as not to offer the recommendation.

When will we see it in action?

For now, the Hyperscreen will arrive with the EQS when it launches in late 2021, so we still have a long way to go to touch on this piece of technological future.
