When the social network was launched, the name it received was Musical.ly – you have its original logo under these lines – and, in fact, it was under that title that it began to become popular on half a planet. Lip Sync with TikTok: how it’s done
Please note that the Lip Sync feature only allows you to record 15 seconds . With this in mind, here are the steps you must follow to use this mode:
- Open the app on your mobile phone and make sure you are logged in.
- Tap on the + symbol.
- Tap on “Sounds” (with the music icon) located at the top of the screen.
- Search for the song that interests you with the search engine among the many available categories (you have memes and virals to the top 40 or reggaeton, among many others). Select it by touching the red confirm button.
- In the right column, tap on the music note icon with the scissors.
- Choose the fragment you want to sing by moving the wave line to the right or left with your finger (the left side of your screen marks the beginning and the right side the end).
- Tap the red button to confirm.
- Make sure you have the camera turned towards you (if not, in the right column tap on the first “Rotate” icon).
- Tap the red central record button and record by moving your lips to the beat of the lyrics.
- Follow the relevant steps to add effects, filters, and more. You can record a voice overlay in the options on the right or control the volume of the music and your own voice if you have preferred to sing it and not just move your lips (in the Volume icon, third screen below these lines).
- Now you only have to publish as you usually do.
One of the features that are enabled is the video speed, so that you can modify this parameter and the music will go accordingly. And if what you want is to give it the greatest possible realism, we recommend that when recording you not only move your lips but sing the song with your voice. Then, as we have indicated in the step by step, you can control its volume and set it to mute, to only leave the audio that interests you -or mix them to different degrees, as you prefer.
