A couple of months ago Vodafone announced its new Vodafone TV decoder. With the name of Vodafone TV 4K Pro, this device would serve to be the new digital home entertainment center . With it, the operator wants to introduce different technologies to improve the user experience in terms of content. It should be noted that it has several functions such as a speaker , Vodafone TV voice control or 4K HDR image quality. It also has “Amazon Alexa“, so we can ask you many things using different voice commands.
With this device you can listen to music and today we are going to explain the different ways you can do it.
Using a Wi-Fi connection
One of the options will be through a Wi-Fi connection and we can put music through Spotify or Alexa (Amazon Music) .
In the case of Spotify, if our mobile phone is connected to the same network as the device and we have a Spotify account, in the application the Vodafone deco will appear as available to play music on it and listen to it with great quality thanks to its speakers Premium quality.
It will not be necessary to use bluetooth or anything similar, since the connection is made automatically thanks to the Wi-Fi connection. The function is also fully available for free Spotify accounts, but it will be necessary to have Alexa configured before in the decoder.
If we go with Alexa, we can play music thanks to it through both Spotify and Amazon Music.
We will have to configure our musical preferences in the Alexa app on our mobile. We will have to go to “Configuration Menu” and then to “Music and Podcasts”, entering our username and password.
Once everything is configured, it will be enough to tell Alexa to play what we want through Amazon Music or Spotify.
By using bluetooth
The other option to listen to music through the Vodafone TV 4K Pro decoder is via bluetooth. The first of all will be to pair our mobile with the decoder. To do this, we will press the bluetooth button for 4 seconds until 4 cyan blue lights appear.
Then we will search our mobile for the deco and after accepting, we will know that it is paired if the lights have blinked 4 times. Up to 15 devices can be paired, although only one can play music simultaneously.
We can pair our devices in three different ways . The first one will be by pressing the bluetooth button on the decoder, automatically connecting to the most recent device.
We can also do it through the bluetooth menu of our mobile or by asking Alexa to connect our phone via bluetooth.
In case of not being able to listen to music by bluetooth, we must make sure that the deco and our mobile are paired. To make sure of this, we can go to the bluetooth menu of our phone, select the decoder and click on “Connect”. We must also check that we have not established a connection with another mobile. If there is one, the last device that was connected will have to be disconnected before pairing a new one.
