OnePlus has added the new Nord CE 5G to its catalog this month but, really, that is not the mobile that users expected, but a shortened version of the original Nord of the brand. The true successor of the phone is a OnePlus Nord 2 from which some of its features were leaked yesterday and today the images of its design.
The new smartphone of the Chinese firm, now dependent on OPPO , should be presented this summer with improvements in its camera division and being the first OnePlus device to taste with a MediaTek processor, instead of one from Qualcomm, as well. It has happened with all the manufacturer’s models so far.
Today, thanks to 91Mobiles , we also know that the phone will be a copy of the OnePlus 9, the top of the range of the brand in this 2021.
A design that sounds like a lot to us
The well-known leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, alias Onleaks , has shared in the last hours the renders of the next OnePlus phone. These images, posted on 91Mobiles, show the phone in all its glory and give us an idea of what the firm’s next mid-range phone looks like.
The phone is more than similar to the OnePlus 9 family and a couple of other devices from its parent company, OPPO . In this way, the firm follows the strategy of Xiaomi, who in 2021 has launched its models of the Mi 11 and Redmi Note 10 line with a practically identical design, leaving the changes for the hardware of the devices.
Thus on the front of the OnePlus Nord 2 there is a flat screen with a hole-punch camera on top, while on the rear panel you can see the placement of a triple camera setup and an LED flash on a rectangular camera island in the upper left corner. The rear panel is minimal and only sports the OnePlus logo in the center.
The placement of the three camera sensors is similar to that of the OnePlus 9 Pro and instead of the fourth sensor, there is the LED flash. Of course there is also room for a USB Type-C, a SIM tray and a speaker grill at the bottom.
If we continue to listen to these images, it is expected that OnePlus will include the alerts slider on the mobile again after removing it from the OnePlus Nord CE. Additionally, OnePlus can also bypass the headphone jack on the Nord 2 .
