Apple made official yesterday the announcement of an upcoming event for October 13, that is, next Tuesday. It was almost an open secret that this event would take place as well as that the iPhone 12 will be the protagonists. However, smartphones could not come alone in that presentation, but AirTags could also see the light after a year of intense rumors and evidence in the iOS code that proved their existence.
The invitation to the keynote ‘smells’ like AirTags
Apple’s marketing team never leaves anything to chance and with the invitations and promotional images of their next event it was not going to be less. He has always left clues about what he was going to present and without going any further we checked it at the event on September 15. At that time an apple was shown that gave the sensation of being drawn with an Apple Pencil, accompanied by the slogan “Time flies.” Finally, the iPad and Apple Watch were presented, so the references to time and the stylus were clear.
In this next event we have the slogan “Hello, speed” that could have a certain reference to the A14 Bionic chip and the 5G connectivity of the next iPhone, but in the images of the invitation we can see very clearly as the part in which the logo is inserted reminiscent of the design that the AirTags will have . Therefore we would already have a reference to the two main devices that would be announced at this event, beyond the fact that later there could be surprises and the also rumored HomePod mini and AirPods Studio would be presented, although at this point there are clear suspicions that the company is still one more event would be reserved for Macs with ARM chips.
The ideal accessory to not lose anything
There are already accessories on the market similar to what will be AirTags. Without going any further on this page we have already analyzed the functionality of the Tiles and we have verified that they can be very useful. They will be a kind of stickers / keyrings with a size still to be defined that could be added to any type of object to always have it located from the Search app of the iPhone, iPad and Mac. In fact, they would have an internal operation similar to that of the latest iPhone thanks to its Ultra Wide Band receiver that would allow it to be interconnected with other devices to send its location.
In the iOS code, an animation related to these accessories was even found and augmented reality could have a close relationship with them. We will probably be able to take a look at a room in the house or place on the street with the camera and an animation will appear in the place where the object with the AirTags is located, in such a way that it is easier to locate it visually.
Analyst Jon Prosser has been stating for weeks that he has been able to see what this product is like and because he cannot show it as such if he agreed to show some renderings that reveal a white design on the front and a metal back with the Californian company logo. One aspect that is not yet known is its price and if they can be purchased individually and / or in a pack of several. In any case it seems that there is less and less time for us to discover it.
