Surely we have ever heard of Kodi . This program was born as a multimedia center for Xbox, but over time it has evolved to become one of the best multimedia centers for all types of operating systems. Its main feature is that users can customize their functions through the use of plugins or add-ons. However, this function has also been one of the ones that has tarnished its image the most, since many of these plugins allow you to view illegal content over the Internet. Despite this, this program is constantly under development. And very soon we will be able to enjoy a new version of this multimedia center.
Kodi developers have been working on the new version of their program, 19, which will also be known as “Matrix”. This new version of the program will come to replace “Leia”, version 18 of the software, and will bring changes that are big, interesting and controversial enough to continue with the evolution of the program.
News that Kodi 19 will bring us
Kodi 19 is a pretty big update over the 18.x branch of this media center. One of the most important changes that we can find is the use of the AV1 codec , a codec that offers yields greater than 30% compared to the current H.265. Another of the most relevant changes is that, in the end, only add-ons will work in Python 3 . Those that haven’t been updated yet will have to be updated or else they won’t work. In addition, the plugins will be installed in separate directories to prevent some from modifying others.

- New color for subtitles and possibility to change opacity.

Of course, it should be noted that the new Release Candidate that has just been released does not bring news, only some better corrections. And, from now on, we will not see any more news until the release of the final version.
