Before the arrival of the new Redmi 9A, the authentic cheap Xiaomi mobile is and has been the Redmi 8A , a phone whose price is around 100 euros (down) and that has everything to become our phone for daily use. Now this phone finally joins its older brothers and receives the Android 10 update.
Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12 update at the end of April and since then, the company has been working hard to ensure that most of its phones are running the latest software version before reaching the end of the year. However, there are models launched last year that are still waiting for the latest version of Google’s operating system, as is the case with the company’s economic mobile of 2019.
Interestingly, although to the delight of those who have invested less money in company mobiles, Xiaomi is updating some low-end phones before the high-end and mid-range models. An example of this is the Redmi 7A, which already received Android 10 a few weeks ago and, now, the Redmi 8A .
MIUI 11 or MIUI 12?
While the Chinese variant received this update a long time ago, the international variants were not running the latest version of the operating system, something that prompted phone owners to complain to the company’s support center. Either thanks to this pressure to be scheduled on the firm’s calendar, now finally the cheap Xiaomi mobile of 2019 receives its corresponding portion of Android 10 .
However, the top customization layer is MIUI 11, and not MIUI 12, so the good news ends up resulting in a “coitus interuptus”. Xiaomi will launch MIUI 12 for the smartphone later, but at the moment the software development is not polished enough to accompany the landing of Android 10.
This will be, in all likelihood, the last major update for the mobile as taking the Redmi 8A Android 11 is not within the firm’s plans. Of course, it should continue to receive future MIUI updates like MIUI 13, but based on the current Google operating system.
The Redmi 8A, in this way, now receives Android 10 with the latest google security patch dated August 2020. The update is being released via OTA and the most normal thing is that you will receive the notice on your mobile in the next few hours .
