Is Huawei afraid to kill EMUI?

In recent times we have heard a lot about the evolution of Huawei and its smartphones, which put us in a confusing scenario for the brand. The original idea of leaving Android and EMUI behind to be replaced by HarmonyOS seemed completely done months ago when we were at the right time to learn about the evolution of a firm that has marked a before and after in technology.

Is Huawei afraid to kill EMUI

However, as we have all been able to see, the illusions for HarmonyOS have been fading little by little and placing us in a confusing scenario for users. At the moment EMUI seems to have a rope for a while and we will have to continue using it on smartphones, at least in Spain and in Europe, since the new EMUI 12 version has already been presented.

Forgetting about EMUI could be expensive for Huawei

Once everything that HarmonyOS 2.0 would offer was made official by Huawei, the dates of the updates began to arrive in China, but in Spain the news stalled. A sudden stop for a race in which Huawei put everything on its side to anticipate the arrival of Android 12, but has finally ended up losing on its own.

Perhaps the firm has regretted what should happen with EMUI and that is why EMUI 12 was presented with many of the HarmonyOS news but without slamming Google, Android and of course EMUI . The “EMUI” system is recognized worldwide as something positive for Huawei for these reasons:

  • Few bugs in the system.
  • Continued evolution.
  • Good results with all kinds of applications.
  • Long updates.
  • Specialized EMUI support.

Leaving aside a name that has brought so many joys to Huawei could make it resigned to second place. Even those who do not control over technology tend to know EMUI if they have used it and this “death” would lead the Chinese company to slowly die in the markets where it is more complicated.

Without EMUI there is no party

It is not safe for now, but exiting Android to enter HarmonyOS may remove Google applications. This would cause users who are currently still happy with their Huawei phones to protest the situation. In the same way, all those advanced users who have been encouraged to get Google applications on Huawei, even if it is a complex process.

EMUI 12

We will have to wait to find out what ends up happening if that situation ends up arriving or if on the contrary Huawei backs down and HarmonyOS does not leave China. What is certain is that until now EMUI 12 is what will focus all our attention for at least one year where there will be many changes.
