Although we are still waiting for Apple to know the exact date of presentation of the iPhone 12 , Caviar is preparing its special versions and the latest one, will remove the emotional foundations of all fans in the history of the company.
This type of special editions are very limited (9 units the version in question) and intended for collectors. Given its price and type of manufacture, it is more about showcase mobiles than to use on the street, but you never know how the buyer can use this type of special edition Caviar. This new version of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max is one of the most spectacular that we have seen to date.
Based on the Apple 1 from 40 years ago
Caviar was inspired by the 40-year-old Apple 1 computer, created in a garage by Steve Wozniak and whose business opportunity was seen almost instantly by Steve Jobs. The Apple 1 is very difficult to obtain, since only 200 units of this primitive PC were made. It had an integrated keyboard and could be connected to a monitor, something pioneering at the time.
These iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have a wooden design reminiscent of Apple 1, with the letters of the first Apple logo. But the most impressive thing is that the 9 limited units feature an original piece of the plate of an Apple 1, which has been acquired by Caviar from a collector. Below the cameras can be seen keyboard buttons and a miniature monitor made of shiny titanium that spells the word “Computer.”
An excessive price?
This special edition can now be reserved on the official Caviar website, at a price that starts at $ 9,990 for the 128GB iPhone 12 Pro or $ 10,460 if we opt for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, Caviar has also created a cheaper edition called the Apple 1 Lite of the same iPhone 12. However, it has a much smaller fragment of the original Apple 1 square and does not have the miniature monitor. Its price in this case is $ 4,990.
If we put its price in context with its value (often subjective), it should be noted that an Apple 1 computer can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in the auction market. As we say, the firm already supports orders for these iPhone 12, but they will only begin to be delivered after Apple has officially presented the devices.
