iOS 15 is right around the corner. It will be presented at the future Apple Developer Conference to be held online in the coming weeks and many changes are expected. These news, as usual, have been reflected in an incredible concept published on YouTube where everything we expect from this update materializes. We tell you all the details below.
We remember, as every time we see videos of this type, that what is shown is not official from Apple despite how well worked it is by the designer. What the video shows at the end are a series of wishes on the part of the users captured in a realistic video, without any of the novelty having been confirmed. Of course, according to some rumors, part of what we see in the video may end up coming true.
Will widgets evolve like this?
The widgets in iOS arrived just last year, and although they are useful to offer information, the truth is that they are incomplete. There is an important deficiency, such as the impossibility of interacting with the widget itself, something that can be seen in Android in a very simple way. This will completely end in iOS 15 based on this concept as the widgets would be redesigned so that they do not act as simple shortcuts to the main application. One of the clearest examples that can be seen is that of Apple Music that would allow to switch between songs easily.
Another of the great demands that we have made as users is the enrichment of the lock screen. Right now it acts as a simple viewer of old notifications and the time. This in iOS 15 would end up evolving by being able to integrate a widget just below the date, such as the time , the activity rings and even what may be left on a timer. In the end, it is to continue working on something that has already been started a year ago with the aim of providing greater functionalities.
Redesign of part of the operating system
But iOS 15 would not end up focusing exclusively on widgets as has been raised in this new concept. The icons could undergo some important changes to give an aesthetic much more similar to that of macOS Big Sur right now. The same would happen with the control center, which would have a design very similar to that of the Mac. A more modern and attractive appearance, especially for the touch controls that are available, but preserving all its functionalities. That is, the shortcuts to different parts of the system would be left intact and the brightness and sound control bars would be given more prominence.
Another of the great functionalities that iOS is requested and that could be included in iOS 15 is that of Split-View . The fact of dividing the screen in two to be able to exchange information between two applications can be a priority for many people. Although, here is the eternal debate of whether a screen with a reduced size (not being an iPad) can make sense.
Finally, there are many users who can agree that low battery warnings are really annoying in the middle of the screen. In iOS 15 they could end up disappearing as it was done with the incoming call notifications in iOS 14. It could happen to have a simple warning on top of the remaining battery and the activation of the low consumption mode. Although, all this is conjecture of a new concept that has come to light and we will have to wait for Apple to give official data in the future WWDC 2021.
