It has been several months since the launch of iOS 14 for the iPhone and since then there have been star features such as the integration of widgets or the Apps Library. However, this version has brought other news that may not have appealed to the general public so much and that may not be as well known. We review 6 of them below, would you have noticed that they were on your iPhone?
Less popular iOS 14 features
We are waiting for iOS 15 to make its appearance in June with its first betas and its subsequent final release in September. However, before going to the new there are certain functions already available in the iPhone operating system that you may be interested in knowing if you did not already know them.

1. Changes made to iMessage
WhatsApp is the app that reigns in countries like Spain when choosing a messaging service. However, Apple‘s native service for its users is becoming more and more popular. In the latest version, improvements were added to its interface such as the possibility of having quick access to favorite contacts or being able to create message threads in the same chat between two or more people with the aim of not diverting the main conversation topic, keeping these half hidden in the interface.

2. Clips so you don’t have to download apps
Ok, we recognize that perhaps not knowing this functionality is not so much your fault as if the developers have not exploited it enough. This is an option that allows you to bring the iPhone to an NFC tag or scan a QR code and be able to access the functionalities of an application without having to download it, very useful for restaurants or shops and for those users who do not want to fill their iPhone with applications that you may not use often.

3. Safari can now translate web pages
While this functionality has taken a little longer to arrive, it is now available to everyone. You can now visit web pages in any language and get a quick translation by pressing the “aA” icon in the search bar and choosing that option to translate.

4. New actions by touching the back of the iPhone
If you have an iPhone 11 or later, you can activate an option that allows you to give two and / or three touches on the back of the iPhone with your finger and perform functions such as taking screenshots, opening Siri, running a shortcut or many other functions. You just have to activate it in Settings> Accessibility> Touch> Touch back.

5. It is easier to move between pages
If you are one of those people who likes to divide your iPhone into sections and you have several application screens, you should know that from iOS 14 it is possible to move more quickly and comfortably between them. How? Well, simply by slightly pressing and holding the pages icon on top of the dock and sliding your finger to one side or the other.

6. Greater privacy for your iPhone
Last but not least, iOS 14 makes using your iPhone much more secure and private. In addition to allowing you to block the tracking of the apps or guarantee that your data will not go to external companies, a series of tags has been added in the App Store with which you will be able to know the permissions that the apps will ask you to be used in your iPhone.

BONUS: What are those colored dots?
In line with the above and as the icing on this article, it is likely that since you updated to iOS 14 you have wondered the reason why colored dots appear on the iPhone. These refer to an access taken by an app at that moment: green camera and orange microphone. If you also open the Control Center you can see which app is accessing it.
