Apple released new versions of software yesterday for almost all of its devices. IOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1 stand out , although watchOS 7.3.2 and macOS 11.2.3 were also released. Below we analyze the news that these new versions of operating systems bring, as well as the importance of installing them on the respective compatible equipment.
What’s new in these versions
There was some surprise when the news suddenly broke that Apple had released new versions of software for all of its devices except for Apple TVs. We all expected to see at most one new beta of the next big versions (iOS 14.5, macOS 11.3, etc.). These versions were released with no other purpose than to implement important security measures that guarantee the safety of the devices against possible malware, as well as correction of errors that have not yet been detailed by Apple. Beyond that, no functional or visual novelty has been found.

It is important to update the devices
Having to install updates that are also so decaffeinated can be somewhat tedious for users, since in the end it requires a few minutes without their devices being installed. However, these versions are not too heavy and the process is quite fast. It is understandable that there is not the same desire as when very striking novelties are launched, but that does not mean that it is less important. If you want to be sure that your devices can cope with malware and be completely safe, it is important to update them. In fact these improvements are always added even if Apple does not specify them.
Remember that if you want to update an iPhone or iPad you must go to Settings> General> Software update. For Apple Watch you can also follow this route or do it from the iPhone in the Watch app, to later go to the My Watch tab and go to General> Software update. In the case of Macs, you should go to System Preferences> Software updates.

When do iOS 14.5 and other versions arrive?
Among the great novelties of iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5, watchOS 7.4 and macOS 11.3 is the compatibility with controls of new generations of game consoles, redesign of the interface of some native apps or the expected functionality of unlocking the iPhone with a mask thanks to the Apple Watch .
However, it seems that we will have to wait for these versions to be released to the public definitively, since at the moment they are going for their respective third beta versions for developers. It is expected that they can be released within 2 or 3 weeks , probably coinciding with the launch of new products such as the iPad Pro in 2021 and maybe even the long-awaited AirTags. It is not known whether or not Apple will hold a virtual event for the presentation of its new hardware or if it will do so through a press release, but surely these updates will end up almost at the same time as that event. We recommend that you be attentive to this medium and our social networks in order to find out when these launches occur.
