Although it may also be in danger of extinction, luckily, most of our mobiles allow us to expand internal memory using memory cards. Huawei‘s mobiles are no exception, and users can manage storage in the way that suits them best. For this reason, today we wanted to see how to install applications on the microSD terminals of the Chinese company.

There are many reasons why we may need to use a memory card to install applications. In many occasions, our mobile phone allows us to expand the memory to 256 GB or 512 GB thanks to memory cards, far exceeding what we have available in the internal memory. When we run out of space in the internal memory, installing applications on the card is usually a good option.
Change storage type
Other users prefer to leave internal storage for system files, cache, and even photos and videos taken, while they prefer that all applications be installed on the SD card . In order to do this, we will have to make a simple adjustment within the storage options of our terminal.

Default location
To activate the function and start installing all the applications on the memory card, we will have to go to the Settings menu and tap on “Storage”. Once done, just below the information related to storage, we will see the option “Default location” By default we will see that the option is selected in “Internal Memory” It will be enough to touch and select “Memory Card”. Once selected, the phone will need to be restarted to apply the changes.
Possible problem
It is important that the memory card has sufficient free space , and that otherwise we could find a message advising us of this. If this happens, we may not be able to install apps on the card or a very limited number of them. The ideal is to free up space previously, for which we can use the file cleaner that is integrated within this same storage menu.

Once this option is selected, the applications that we install will be stored on the card . Keep in mind that, in addition to having free storage space, it is recommended that the card have the fastest possible read and write speed, since in this way the system will be more fluid and we will not notice lag or delays when running apps.
